Every year on 9/11, I pause to remember that morning in my junior year of college, glued to the classroom TV watching CNN’s live coverage. It’s hard to believe 24 years have passed since that day shook the world. I was lucky—none of my loved ones were directly affected—but the weight of that tragedy still hits me. Whenever I’m in New York, I make it a point to visit the new World Trade Center. It’s my way of paying respects to the brave firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and everyday people who risked everything to save lives. Their courage stays with me.
I also think of the families who lost so much, and I hope they’ve found ways to rebuild and move forward. Every year, I say these words, but this time I’m sharing them here on YouTube. And today, I’m adding a wish: instead of sending fathers, husbands, and sons to war, maybe our leaders could settle things with toy mini cannons or drone duels. Let’s keep the real heroes safe and stop making families grieve. Thanks for reading, everyone.
