Got some great content coming your way! 2 new operator interviews: one is the senior operator at Texas A&M University’s wastewater plant, and the other an 18 year old operator out of Minnesota. Both packed with great operational and career info. Look for those in September. On the technical side my next 3 ideas are ORPs Relationships to Chlorine, Sludge Settleability and SVI, or Activated Sludge Process Variations. Which would you like to learn about next? Vote below!

Hey Everyone! I hope you enjoyed today's new video on Oxygen Transfer Efficiency. I wanted to announce that my 165 page Grade III wastewater exam study guide is now LIVE and available for purchase at wastewaterenthusiast.com! This is for anybody studying for a journey level wastewater exam (Grade III, Class B, etc.). What's cool is that any lesson I have a related video to, I put QR codes in the lesson so you can scan it and go right to one of my videos to get an explanation. I will be adding QR codes to the guide as new videos come out. AND since it's a digital download, I have decided to make future versions completely free to anybody who purchases the guide! This way you won't feel like you have to wait to study, or feel like I'm charging you twice for a slightly different version. No way! Buy it once, and all future versions are free of charge!
I priced it at $95 and here is the direct link if interested: wastewaterenthusiast.com/products/grade-iii-class-…

New video dropping Monday 8/24! This time we are discussing oxygen transfer efficiency in activated sludge. I’ve been excited about this one since I filmed it almost 2 months ago. We drained our aeration basin and changed out our blown out and fouled diffusers. I filmed the repair and then did wastewater exam prep segment where we calculate oxygen transfer efficiency as well as discuss fine versus course bubble diffusion (and the different uses for those diffusion patterns). Keep your eyes open for it Monday morning!

I’m working on a ton of new content including some collections system maintenance exam prep videos! I’ll be collaborating with some collection system experts to put this together for you. I’m particularly targeting the CWEA Grades 1-4. What I’m curious about before embarking on this series is what will most help YOU. Vote below on what’s grade level has been tripping you up the most so I know where to focus.

New member perk alert! Chief Operator members now get 10% off my entire merch store. I’m going to post a separate member only post with the promo code. Also excited to share that building my study guides is moving along nicely. I’m hoping to get the first one out in September. I’m starting with the Grade III (Class B/Intermediate in your state). Grade III seems what the biggest ask is right now. Excited to get that out for y’all!

Hey All! I’m doing an online training on Advanced Activated Sludge Process Control next Thursday the 20th from 8-10 AM PST through the TrainingLink website. This is gonna be very good for you if you are studying for a higher level exam or want to understand more about the different ways you can run an activated sludge process.
Here’s the link if interested: www.dkf-traininglink.com/registration-link/landing…
TrainingLink is one of my “side hustles” and I’ve been teaching for them for over a year. I’m gonna start promoting my trainings here on the channel so that y’all know that they are happening. I do around 5-8 trainings per year. Some of them cost money to attend, some are free. This particular one is $99 and comes with a handout of the presentation that is packed with tons of information.
Hope to see you there!

Howdy! My full episode from Tri-State Seminar is edited and will be public tomorrow morning (Tuesday 8/10). I explore the exhibition hall, seminar hall, and have 3 short interviews with a lab manager, an engineer, and a collection system guru (who is also big into Operations Challenge). I also show you a peak behind the scenes in my workshops and all the things I got to see while there. It even has some industry celebrity cameos (one is the one and only Eric Wahlberg). Even when sick, my brain doesn’t seem to want to stop the YouTube train. Gotta do something while I’m laid out on the couch all weekend. Keep your eyes open for it!

Alright everybody, my merch store is open for business! Math exam prep booklets, hats, hoodies, shirts, and coffee mugs are available at wastewaterenthusiast.com! The math prep booklets plus answer keys and written instruction are $35. I have an Entry Level (Grades I-II) and Advanced (Grades III-V) and are available as a digital download. (EDIT: somebody inquired about a bundle option so I added it - you can buy both booklets for $65 total).
I tested the download and it gets sent to your email immediately after purchase (pretty cool feature!). Those math booklets are from the classes I teach, but since I’m not there to explain things in person, they are heavily discounted from what I charge an in-person attendee.
I kept the offerings small and can add more merch in the future if demand is there. Check it all out at wastewaterenthusiast.com!
