I used to be a mess…. Every January I’d tell myself
“This is going to be my year”
I’m going to get shredded, stay off the drink and finally take training seriously for once.
Then the excuses would start piling up
“I’ll start after this weekend because United are playing and the lads are out”
Or “I’ll hire a coach! but then tell myself, Ah sure I know what to do”
Which basically meant “I’m not ready to commit to this yet”
The frustrating part was my life wasn’t terrible. Work was going okay and I was earning decent money.
I trained here and there but deep down I knew I wanted more from myself.
I kept waiting for the perfect moment when I’d suddenly feel motivated enough, have more time, have fewer social plans, and everything would fall into place.
Yeah, that never came 🤷♂️
Things only started changing when I finally committed to the thing I kept saying I wanted.
And once I did, I realised something, you don’t get to see what’s on the other side until you put your foot down and actually go after it.
If you don’t, you stay exactly where you are wondering what you could have done.
There are still three months left in this year, so pick one big goal and put in a real effort.
You might be surprised at how much it changes everything else around you.
And if your goal is getting into the best shape you’ve been in for years, but you’re sick of the guesswork and constantly starting again, I’ve been there.
I can save you a lot of the pain, mistakes and wasted time I went through myself.
Drop me a message if you want to learn more about coaching.

1:31 🙌 No idea where that came from!
It’s amazing what a proper carb load can do!
I also think those hills of Donegal had the legs primed for any elevation today because my legs felt amazing… until now. Now they’re pretty sore 😂
A big goal ticked off and I couldn’t be happier right now. I guess sub 1:30 is the next goal after the bodybuilding prep? 😂
A big thanks to everyone who supported me, friends, family and my amazing girlfriend @claire_boylee 😘
Time to soak it all up, spend some quality time with the family, then tomorrow it’s back to prep. Only 3 more weeks 🫶
Lastly, congratulations to everyone who took part today. A great event in Tullamore.
Regardless of your time, be proud! 21km is no joke 👏👏

4 weeks to go 🙌
Things are starting to come together nicely.
Still a good 2–3kg to pull before I’d consider myself properly stage ready, so there’s plenty of work left to do.
Right now I’m flat, tired and definitely feeling the effects of prep, which is pretty much where I’d expect to be at this point.
Especially with a half marathon thrown into the mix next weekend 😂
The body is feeling it, but we’re still moving forward.
Big refeed today then a complete rest day tomorrow.
Then we go again.
4 weeks, let’s see how far we can push this thing 🫡
