The Royal Bhutan Police Training Institute (RBPTI), Jigmeling, conducted the Passing-out Parade (PoP) of the 44th Batch of Officer Cadets and the 57th Batch of Recruits (Maksars) on 7 January 2026, marking their formal induction into the Royal Bhutan Police.
The ceremony was graced by the Honโble Prime Minister, Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay.
Addressing the parade, Lyonchen recognised the Royal Bhutan Police as a pillar of peace and stability and described the occasion as historic.
Lyonchen congratulated the graduating cadets and recruits and stated that they had been provided opportunities to learn far more than any previous batch at the training institute, adding that the training programme was personally developed under the guidance of His Majesty The King and aligned with international standards.
He further noted that, as they formally joined the service, they would play a vital role in maintaining peace and stability in the Gelephu Mindfulness City and in laying a strong foundation for this important national project.
The 44th Batch comprised 15 Officer Cadets (10 male and 5 female) who successfully completed an 18-month Basic Course encompassing ethical and behavioral conditioning, professional knowledge, and personal and social sensitization, alongside intensive outdoor training.
The 57th Batch comprised 303 Recruits (204 male and 99 female) and is a landmark intake trained under a newly designed curriculum aligned with the evolving requirements of the Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative.
The programme included six months of basic training followed by two months of specialization across key policing domains.
During the ceremony, the graduating officers and recruits took the oath of allegiance, reaffirming their commitment to serve the nation with integrity and professionalism.
Awards were presented to outstanding trainees for excellence in academics, sports, games, and drills.
The PoP marked the successful culmination of rigorous training and the beginning of a new chapter of dedicated service to the nation.

If there is a word that could express more than what "gratitude" could, I would use it here.
Ever beholden to His Majesty for His compassion and generosity.
