Have you had a fresh coconut off the street vendors in India? Watch my new YouTube short just released!

These rehydration fruits were my lifesavers during the hot pre-monsoon season!

Guess the average cost of one, served full service in two steps!

They hack the top off and insert the straw.

After you're done drinking, the split it open, loosen the coconut meat inside, carve a piece of shell off for your scoop of spoon and hand it back to you!

Kovalam beach is a laid back but lively community of locals, expats and tourists. You can rent a sunbed for $7 per day, sip out of fresh coconuts for $0.75 each and surf, swim and sunbathe!

If you head down to South India, definitely make a beach stop here!

The coconut is the never hard to find in this part of India.

I made sure it was part of my daily diet. It's one of the most hydrating foods, includes electrolytes, fibre and a great saturated fat.

I need a coconut stand in Arizona. Except the coconuts would be 10x the cost in India.

The doctors ordered me to sip out of coconuts every day. Well, at least one of my American functional medicine colleagues did.

I voluntarily put myself through medical testing here in South India to compare some notes and see if this would help others back home. And I learned so much about the medical system here. (Stay tuned for details)

Dehydration after food poisoning kicks your butt!
My 5th day in India and I learned a hard lesson: Be cautious eating non-veg meals, especially by the beach where restaurants don't always refrigerate properly.

So for more reasons beyond dehydration, I'm making lime juice and coconuts my new daily habit.

Thank goodness they are inexpensive here.

"Welcome to India, my dear!", said my local friends.

Freshly squeezed lime juice, a cucumber juice, the ABC (apples, beet, carrot) juice, and a fresh coconut!

It took 5 days to put my feet in the sand at this beach in India. Why so long?

After 27 hours of travel, I almost had trouble entering India two days ago!
Tourist visa travel tip: If you renewed your passport during the time period your tourist visa is valid, bring your old passport with your new one on your next trip!
It says there clearly on the tourist visa document.

I happen to bring mine without knowing I needed it. I figured I could use it if I rent a recreation vehicle instead of handing over my active passport.
Your US passport number changes with each renewal, so the new one didn't match my 5 year visa.

Fortunately, it was stashed in my roller bag carryon when the immigration officer asked me to present it. (No, a photo of your old passport is not accepted).

Note to self: Always read the fine print on your visa before your trip. 😅

Have you been to the Musical Instrument Museum?
If not, me neither.
But I finally had the opportunity to see a show! A friend asked me last minute and I cleared my work schedule and jumped at the opportunity.
The Blind Boys of Alabama were so entertaining!
I rarely wait for an invitation to a bucket list venue. But this one kept getting put off!
Watch out for some youtube shorts on the show!
