The staff of Bon Appétit are devastated to learn of the sudden passing of chef Jamal James Kent. As the owner and creative force behind Crown Shy in New York City, his vision—and the staff he assembled to realize it—was the foundation of two unforgettable video projects we partnered on. It was clear in the videos we made together that Chef cared deeply for the wellbeing of his staff, and was truly proud of everyone who worked alongside him in his restaurants. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues as we collectively process this crushing loss.
