She ascended the spiral steps alone. Not to escape, but to remember.

The old stone tower held no dragons now, but once, long ago, the air had shimmered with the heat of their breath. She could still feel it in the wood beneath her fingertips, in the way the wind whispered warnings through the cracks in the stone.

Her crimson gown caught the morning light, casting ripples across the floor like dragonfire licking at the edges of her resolve. But it was not the dress that marked her, it was the ember-red wing coiled gently at her ear. A gift? No. A bond.

Vaerith, the Flamebound. She had heard the name whispered in dreams, in battlecries, in the hush that falls before a kingdom burns. No one commanded Vaerith. You wore her only when the fire in you matched the fire in her.

And as the light spilled through the arched window and kissed her skin, she knew:

This was no longer a tower of waiting.
This was a tower of choosing.
And she was done waiting for permission to rise.

Tomorrow’s the day, mermaids!
We’re packing up our sparkles, shells, and brand-new 3D-printed mermaid ears for a magical morning by the sea, and I couldn’t be more excited.

While taking photos of these moments is part of what makes events like this so special, I also want to share something that means just as much to me: the thoughtfulness behind our participant cards.

Every participant, especially our little mermaids, will have a quick card where a parent or guardian can note their photo visibility preferences. That includes whether they’re comfortable with full face, partial face, or ear cuffs only.

Because while we love to share the joy and creativity that comes from these moments, we also know:
• Not every parent is comfortable with full-face images online
• Not every family has the same boundaries
• And no child should feel left out just because their photo isn’t being shared

At Salty 3D Prints, we’re in the business of bringing delight, not pressure.
We believe you can celebrate creativity and still be mindful of comfort zones.
And we’re incredibly grateful for every person and parent who shows up to make that possible.

Ever wonder why your bracelet needs a little more finesse to scan than your keychain?

It’s all about the chip size.
🔹 Bracelets use a tiny chip — about the size of a Tic Tac
🔹 Keychains use a larger chip — just bigger than a quarter

That means:
✔️ You must touch your phone directly to the keychain or bracelet
✔️ Move your phone slowly until it connects
✔️ Be patient with bracelets — their chip is smaller and needs more precision

💡 Tip: iPhones read NFC near the top back. Androids usually read from the center back.

✨ Tiny chip, big magic.
