In the world of filmmaking, every color tells a story, and in our film, we're painting with hues that carry profound meaning. Join us as we delve into the art of color in 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜.

🌟𝙎𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙚 𝟭: 𝘼 𝙂𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚🌟
In the not-so-distant future, we take you on a journey to a world 10 years from now. The colorscape here is reminiscent of the thought-provoking and dystopian visuals seen in "Black Mirror”. For those more familiar with K-drama, think of the greyish-bluish forest in Yung of “The Uncanny Counter” 경이로운 소문.
It is crucial that the colors we capture are carefully chosen as they form our canvas in post-production to create the futuristic atmosphere in our vision. Thus, props and wardrobe selections must be post-production friendly — neutral shades and palette from the opposite spectrum of human skin tones. This allows our VFX Specialist Greg to work his color grading magic while maintaining the realism of the future world.

In stark contrast to the future scene, we bring you back to the present. Here, vibrant blues and bold reds take center stage, symbolizing the choices we face — the "red pill" or the "blue pill," much like the iconic theme from "The Matrix." These colors are not just for aesthetics; they represent the essence of the narrative, the choices that define our journey.

Our journey to create 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜 for the SUS Ads Video Challenge 2023 was nothing short of a whirlwind!🌪️ We heard about this contest way too late, but that only fueled our determination to make it happen. Here's a glimpse into our pre-production process:

 ⏳ 𝙍𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚: With the clock ticking, we had to hit the ground running. The moment we learnt about the contest, we recognized the urgency and knew we had to rush it.

💡𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚: Our creative minds went into overdrive as we brainstormed numerous concepts. After intense discussions, we finally settled on J's futuristic story, a narrative that resonated deeply with all of us.

📜 𝙎𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘: ‪@LizzieQuinnV‬ worked tirelessly to bring our concept to life on paper. The screenplay took shape remarkably fast, and we had our final draft in the nick of time.

🧐 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚: Huge thanks to Greg and Tommy, who were by our side every step of the way during tech reconnaissance to share their expertise. Thank you Diana and ‪@BULESU‬ who scouted exclusive locations and explored possibilities. After careful consideration, we decided to go with Mount Studio for our shooting location as they provided the perfect backdrop for our vision.

🥂 𝙋𝙧𝙚-𝙋𝙧𝙤 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: Our pre-production meeting was more than just business; it was an evening filled with laughter, food, and drinks at Aura Loft. Oh, and guess what? We even spotted a perfect prop there! Stay tuned for more on that tomorrow...
