BECOMING

There’s a story in the Bible about David that resonates deeply with this word. Before he was a king, he was a shepherd. Before he led armies, he tended sheep. Before people saw him as mighty, he was overlooked—even by his own family. Yet, every season of his life was shaping him for the throne, even when it didn’t look like it.

Life is often about becoming rather than simply arriving. The tension you feel - the weight of demands, the sense of being stuck - could very well be the forging process. Just as a seed doesn’t look like a tree, but carries everything within it to become one, you are in motion, even when it feels like you aren’t.

The world rushes us to “arrive,” but God is invested in our becoming. The shepherd boy holding a slingshot didn’t yet look like a king, but he was one in the making. So are you.

Take heart. You are not nowhere. You are in the process of becoming.

You don’t need to know exactly where your life will be 10 years from now. But you need to make decisions today that make that future possible.

Don’t let other people’s limitations become the ceiling for your faith, ideas or ambition. Sometimes, you don’t need permission to believe. You just need the courage to begin.

BUILD IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

There are dreams that belong to a particular season of your life. Not because the dream will expire, but because you will not always have the same energy, courage, resources, hunger, time or capacity that you have today.

We keep telling ourselves:

“When I have more money.” “When life becomes quieter.”
“When the children are older.” “When the economy improves.” “When everything finally makes sense.”

But sometimes, waiting for the perfect conditions is how a great idea quietly dies. If God has placed something in your heart, don’t just admire the vision. Give it movement.

Start imperfectly. Build with what you have. Learn as you go. Adjust when necessary. Keep moving. Because one of life’s greatest regrets is reaching a season where you finally have the wisdom and resources to build what you once dreamed about - but no longer have the strength or time to build it.

Your assignment is bigger than your comfort. Don’t carry your greatest work to the grave as an idea. Build it while you still can. Because your purpose is not accidental. It is part of God’s agenda for your life and your generation. Start Now.

Today In PART 4/4 of the four Things Experience Has Taught Me - LEADERS MUST THINK

Leadership requires the ability to stop, step back and think. We live in a world that rewards speed. Respond quickly. Post quickly. Decide quickly. Build quickly.Scale quickly. But leadership is not merely the ability to move fast. Sometimes leadership requires you to stop. To sit quietly. To observe. To question what everyone else has accepted. To connect things that appear unrelated.

To ask: Why are we doing this? What are we missing?
What happens if we continue this way for five years?
What are we building beyond the numbers? Who will our decisions create?

Because a leader who cannot think deeply will eventually lead people into places they never intended to go. I have learned that reflection is not inactivity. Sometimes the most productive thing a leader can do is withdraw from the noise long enough to hear their own thoughts again.

Don’t just be a leader who can execute. Become a leader who can see. Because before you can change the world around you, you must first learn to see it differently.

And Ultimately I believe Leadership is not about how many people follow you. It is about who becomes better because they did.
