Why Are Churches Growing and Businesses Dying in Africa?
I asked Bishop David Oyedepo this, amongst many other questions, in our one-on-one meeting last week.
His answer was
“ Information, My Son! I read 39 biographies about great ministers who went ahead and their ministry operations before we started The Living Faith; how many business founders read about those in their field who have gone ahead of them? For example, if someone wants to start a Real Estate Business, they need to study other successful Real Estate Companies and learn what to do and avoid. I studied other giants to know how to respond when people say nonsense about Me. It was easy to understand, for example, how to deal with Government as A Pastor because I studied those ahead of Me. I deal at arm’s length with the Government.
A former CBN Governor Told Me, we research you and are shocked that not a Dime of Government Money is in your church “.
As I said, I spent one hour with Bishop, but I became ten years wiser after that encounter.

In times like these, we are reminded of the hand of the Lord working in ways that confound human understanding, and drives back the darkness so that the Spirit of God may accomplish His eternal purpose in the world.
For those with ears to hear and eyes to see, this is a call for righteousness to reign in the matters of men, as He dismantles the architecture and systems of darkness among the nations thereby paving the way for His blessing to come upon the nations that seek His face.
As you again rise to role as leader of the free world and the president of these United States, may the light of righteousness shine ever brighter upon your face, shores and the nations at large. May His good will, favour and wisdom attend to you always.

NIGHT VIGIL HAS HELD FROM THE DAYS OF APOSTLE BABALOLA BEFORE INDEPENDENCE UP TILL NOW SO WHAT YEAR DID CHURCH VIGILS START STOPPING DEVELOPMENT
NO CHURCH HOLDS NIGHT VIGIL EVERYDAY
GO AND ENSURE NIGHT SHIFT IN THE LEAST PRODUCING STATES IN NIGERIA THE WAY YOU DID WHEN YOU WERE GOVERNOR
This is painful but it must be written.
Who are you trying to impress Sir?
What kind of own goal is this?
You were at Shiloh in 2022.
You went to CHOSEN.
You were at RCCG Congress where Daddy GO ministers late on Friday night.
You were at PFN Conference in Bayelsa.
You were at Glory Dome.
These are some of the many places you went and where vigils are held from time to time. You got your highest votes where these churches are prospering and infact some of them in the most economically buoyant states in Nigeria. You know the areas in Nigeria where the economy is at its worst. You know those that are complaining of the ongoing Tax Bill. Those who pray very very regularly. Those whose roads can't be used on weekdays due to prayers. Those who refused to vote for you. You had nothing to say about them. It is the Church you saw.
With due respect, your podcast was a disappointment.
This was never expected.
This was an own goal.
Your agents may try to justify you but you failed where it mattered most.
Don't come to CHOSEN again because service holds during special programs on Saturdays from morning to night.
Don't come to RCCG Congress again because the last nights of their major events are vigils.
Don't come to Shiloh again because the last day is imparatation service and starts from 5.30am
Don't come to Dunamis again because the last friday of every month is a vigil.
The Churches mentioned above do more for the Nigerian economy than 6 of the states in Nigeria you completely ignored.
We would rather have these churches do vigil than have those states where they can't boast of any major development in 3 decades.
You most respectfully did not try Sir.
2026 is coming.
We will surely remind you.
