John "Joy" Tay. 21 y/o pansexual-genderfluid arranger/ composer. Digital fusion/ chiptune artist who mainly writes for FM soundchips but also experiments with a variety of other soundchips.
All works are arranged and written personally and are not written with MIDI sequencers or with them in mind, do refrain from asking about MIDIs. Project files for most of my work however, is made publicly available.
Works mostly involve tildearrow's furnace tracker, but also occasionally include renoise and Caustic 3. Previously used DefleMask, PixiTracker, FamiTracker and BambooTracker as well.
All works are allowed for free use given the permission, unless if they are for commercial projects. AI extensions and/ or remixes of my work, regardless of intent, is strictly forbidden. Contact me on Discord @johntayjinf or @joytayjinf_alt for any further questions.

sorry for not keeping my youtube audience posted, but i'm glad to announce that alongside necro pop i also am the arranger and sound designer for gleylancer overdrive! i love this game to death and it is a massive influence with how i write and arrange, so to get to work on this game reimagined is a dream. i'll spare you the details, but tl;dr i will stick to the source material but also add more of my own personal flair, meaning the original soundtrack won't be "lost" so to speak. if you want to read more from my end please do visit my bluesky page. i'll post music when the steam page goes live

my adsense location verification pin has finally arrived! henceforth i would like to announce that we will be having memberships very soon (i don't know when, though). only $1.99/ mo, no special perks or anything, just a subscription badge and acknowledgement of support every video where i see fit. and for the record i can't make member-only videos because most of what i am making is highly confidential
anyways, to put things into perspective:
let's say that 500/38.2k subs (generous estimate) become members of the channel. that will give me ~$1k. that's a lot of money per month even for so little people. it will help me a lot and continue to help me fund this job. and in addition to having ko-fi and bandcamp as well as my other clients i will have *this* avenue to receive my revenue from. it almost feels like a dream come true somewhat. hopefully the day i roll out memberships will guarantee my success and financial stability for the future.

so i'm sure some of you know that i've been really busy. i've told many people that i have a work hiatus until august, but now that my schedule is more consistent and cleared up i should update you all on what's been happening and my plans for the future of this channel.
first off. i have a decent backlog that i plan to post on yt, though most of it has been posted to bluesky. if you're curious on what i'm up to during my free time or want to see wips and future releases in advance, follow me on bluesky. i also won't follow the work hiatus until august too strictly and may post way before that (e.g. posting "summer night's harsh, yet embracing warmth" on the last bandcamp friday. i'll even post when i feel like it), but even then this channel will post waaaaay less frequently now, because...
ok, i know that some people from both my discord server and my bluesky know this now, but i have been working under nalua studio as composer + sound designer for about a year.. and i am happy to tell you that our new, upcoming game necro pop has been announced (about 2-3 weeks ago). necro pop will be releasing on most modern platforms, but more importantly for the neo geo mvs/ aes. that's the studio's specialty. casual gamers and neo geo collectors will indeed like this game.
the steam page went live today and we hope people can wishlist it to generate hype for this game as well as improve its visibility on steam. people have been waiting for original game work from me for a while now, so i hope the wait was worth it! here's to hoping that you all will continue to support my work and nalua's releases in the future.
