Giving content a chance that others will not. Salvaged VHS and Betamax Tapes destined for the landfill have gone to create An Aladdin’s Cave of largely forgotten media.. This small hobby is all about the capturing, encoding and uploading of hidden and forgotten gems; from Tape Based Media, obsolete stuff and things that might be of some sort of interest; the sort of thing most people would throw straight into the recycling when cleaning out the garage; if this is the sort of thing you find interesting; a very warm welcome to you!

If your bag is old Ad Breaks, Training Videos, Forgotten Documentaries and anything else between; I think you will fit right in here!

Good Morning All,
I've been plagued with recent Tracking Issues with my Hitatchi which has lasted me a good few years. I recently bought a Bush VCR from a Charity shop, which is pretty low quality and weighs about as much as a small cardboard box, this has now decided to leave this world; so currently I'm spending a wet and miserable morning off work capturing more Alwyn Crawshaw on a Grundig which I saved from the local tip some time ago. The chap was about to drop it into a large scrap metal bin. Only issue was he had cut the plug off. I rewired it, and it seems to work well.
I would however like to get my knackered Panasonic Super Drive repaired and use that for captures

I know people love a good sale this time of year; particularly on Electronics. But perhaps this is going a little too far with your prized cheap purchases?

Does anyone remember a Cow and Gate Baby Formula Ad from 1990/1? It ends with an outro of Sinead O'Connors "Nothing Compares 2 U" and a long shot of a field. Possibly a cow and a gate from a hazy memory.

It's Boxing Day in the 1980s/1990s/2000s and that can only mean ONE thing. You've been dragged around Carpet Warehouses, Kitchen Showrooms, Furniture Shops and Appliance Shops for the irresistible End of Year Deals.
You've got a pocket full of of chocolates, leftover biscuits and sweets and the best New Toy which was small enough to take in the car. You are bored stiff looking for something to do in the cavernous Warehouse Shop whilst your parents are being tended too by a young and absolutely hanging shop assistant who most certainly had a few too many the evening before and probably can't wait to leave.
These stills from Adverts of that ilk stir up such memories from those days, and sifting through these tapes have proven that endless End of Year Sales Ads were just as prevalent 30-40 years back, just as they are today.

Got a pair of cans for Christmas. So hopefully I should pickup audio issues a little better than on speakers.
