Legally blind, enthused retro gamer, half baked video maker!
Basically grew up on the mighty C64 and, somewhat less mighty, Videopac (Odyssey 2 in the US). Over the years I've enjoyed a great deal of systems and games. One of which was Philips' own failed system, the CD-i. Being Dutch, it was kind of hard to escape the bloody thing in the early 90's! Seeing that the format was not getting much (positive) attention, I figured I'd try and do something about that.
You'll find reviews, let's plays, vlogs and other random stuff I figured would be fun for whatever reason. Been at it off and on ever since 2008, so there's quite a few video's on here already. Any good? Well, you can be the judge of that and let me know in the comments. Always appreciate any feedback and enjoy learning along the way!

It's gone dark on this channel again and I'm so sorry for that. Not getting things done has bugged me so much, that I've decided to seek help one more time. It's crazy to think that my previous pleas started in 2009, only to result in more uncertainties of weird ass things they found in conventional medicine or downright dismissals for help in mental healthcare. Frustrated and hopeless at the end of 2019 I just completely gave up, as I had to give up on the last few things I really cared about and was fighting to retain at that time. I completely gave in to live a secluded life, letting go of all the stress and enjoy the things that came along and possible, from day to day. Along the way I did find a couple of things that ended up really helping me and get me motivated to dare look for a future again. There's still plenty I want to do and experience in this life!
It's obvious that I am not able to find the way how on my own, so let's give it one more try... and as I decided that last month, the world somehow seems to be willing to provide a possible path even impatient and skeptical me can't say no to. Just completely skipping the huge annoyance of any waiting lists for one! And it makes one hopeful more things will fall into place. So, let's see if we can update to Seb 2.0!
Anyway, big blah blah, but what it comes down to, is that I wanted you guys to know that I'm still around. But it may be a while longer for me to get back to posting video's. I'm done disappointing you, as well as myself, with being so irregular. I think it's for the best that I first work on myself, before getting back to the channel. Those who click on these video's deserve better than a half assed effort! Thank you for your support, patience and friendship over the years! This whole space and the people on it has become pretty important to me and there's plenty more I want to share as well.

I'm curious, would you be interested to see/hear me struggle to hit the right notes on piano in some video's?
I'm a pretty slow piano student, but I'm enjoying learning the instrument a lot. I'm thinking about, and it has been suggested before, making some video's as I progress. For example, take a book and make a video of each piece as I start to make them sound half decent. Which will start out very basic and slow. Sight reading will never become my expertise for obvious reasons, but I do want to practice it as well. How else am I going to one day play To Zanarkand? ;) Generally speaking, these video's won't be video game related though, but playing some tunes down the line would make for a nice goal. Seeing others play the piano on here has inspired me to get started, so it would be awesome if I could fill such a role at some point too for someone else.
I do want to keep the core of the channel (retro) game and collecting related. I'm currently figuring out what I want to focus on exactly, but I'm curious if piano could have a place in there as well. If you have any further ideas as to what you would like to see on this channel most, please let me know in the comments. I'm tied to a few projects outside of YouTube for now, but aim to go full force into video making somewhere this fall/winter.

Set out to record some PS2 pick-ups today. I really lucked out with some amazing titles! It's always nice to capture some footage of each game (both to show the game in action and test if it works in general), so in the process of doing that now. With 20 games... that take a minute! So will probably have that up tomorrow or Wednesday.
Probably going to be light on any pick-ups afterwards for a while. I'm in the process of finishing off another (unrelated) project and after that I want to sit down and have a good think about the overall direction of the channel. As pick-ups are cool on the side perhaps, but definitely not the intended focus here. But the recent video's say otherwise, lol.

Sad update about Griezo, but I've just opted to plan in an end for him. I took him to the hospital on Thursday, picked him up again on Sunday. Most tests show he's fine and the few things that were off have been resolved, yet he grows weaker and less responsive by the day. It's almost certainly caused by an issue in the brain, but what exactly, no clue. We had an appointment with a neurologist this Thursday, but the chance of them finding something they can still treat in his current state have grown very small. That place is like 2 hours away, it feels unfair to expose him to more stress like that for a slither of hope for me. In situations like these there's never really a good solution for pet owner and there will always be doubt, but it's been hard to see him suffer so much the past month already and I feel like I shouldn't prolong that any more. So I'm going to see when the vet has time to see him off to sleep at home and try to ease some discomfort in the meantime with some heavy meds.

Quck update from over here. Working on finishing off on a few projects outside of YouTube and after those, I'd like to fully focus on video's again. Although, I still need to figure out the exact direction. In the meantime, I do have a little upgrade to improve future captures, as I was rather unhappy with PS2 footage in particular. Originally got the RGB SCART RetroTink for the CD-i, but it made such a difference... just had to go a step up!
And for those who want to know how it's going with Griezo; he's around, though is unfortunately not doing very wel. Some days he's doing a bit better and he's kind of his talkative self, but there's also periods where there's almost no life in him and he's like a ragdoll. Those periods come more frequently and last longer and I still have no clue what is causing it exactly and, even worse, how much pain he's actually in. Tomorrow we'll go in for an echo and hopefully we will learn some more from that. It is hopeful to see him fight on as well as he does, though I really wish I knew how to make more comfortable.

I'm very sorry for the drop off (again), but have had some worries here. I did just record an update video where I also show a bunch of recent(ish) pick ups and before I knew it I had been rambling on for like an hour! Eh... may just dump that, there's more exciting things to see/hear on here, haha.
I've been rather inactive, but still around. Unfortunately, Griezo has gotten progressively more sick since February and that's been dragging me down quite a bit to be honest. I'm afraid we won't be enjoying his on screen presence much anymore, certainly not at the pace I make video's! But right now he's not able to get on the desk anymore and he's managed to outblind me to boot.
Perhaps it's a good time for me to re-assess what I want to do with the channel too, as my own stubbornness keeps kicking my ass. My capabilities don't match with my perfect self, which through frustrations tends to lead to the worst self.
Ah well, I'm sure I'll figure it out somehow, sometime... or just fall back in old habits and post irregular new stuff as soon as the itch hits :D. Hope you are doing well and thank you as always for wat- reading!

Griezo's been a bit sick (he didn't want treats, then you know it's bad!), but luckily he's doing much better again (which can't be said for my bank account, yikes that stuff adds up fast!). He will need some care twice a day though and my body and mind just don't respond well to routine anymore, so it'll take some adjusting I guess. It's been kind of draining me, making it harder to focus on content, but will do my best to get something out now and then!
While working on my last video, I got the idea to make an overview/guide to different ways to play/enjoy retro games and their respective pros and cons. If anyone has some thoughts on things that should go in there, feel free to share or perhaps we can even collaborate. I dabble in quite a few different ways myself, but I am by no means an expert in any one of them.
Also have had a video about a small CD-i title in the works for literal months now! Actually did do the VO, but wanted to film some parts too and haven't felt up to that the last few weeks. Will try to get that recorded this week.

Have some video ideas in the works, but this week has been a bit rough. Hope to get something ready somewhere next week. On the plus side, during the down time I did make some progress on the CD-i collection. Most of my general stuff is sorted, now it's time to get the stuff up that's a bit more rare. Makes it a bit easier as I don't have to compare and inspect as much, but the Game Collector database probably misses most of these, so it will mean a lot of manual filling in the info. It also appears that I am still somehow running out of shelve space, lol.
Anyway, here's an example of a harder to find game. Did you know that CD-i has 4 NFL titles? I know nothing of the sport, so hopefully I can at some point find someone to tackle these together. This one is supposed to be quite good fun, where you have to make correct referee calls based on the situations displayed.

WHY!?
Should have known better, but I just had to suggest game collections and cats can mix well.

CD-i has some wild, experimental titles where you can't help but wonder how many copies they actually expected to sell... I'm sure stuff like this would be very popular right around the 20th of April though!
