When I first started raised bed gardening, I thought you could grow anything in them.
So I followed all the lists.

And some of it completely failed.
Not because I didn’t try hard enough — but because not everything belongs in a raised bed when you're brand new.

The truth is, some plants are confidence builders for beginners:
🌿 Leafy greens
🌿 Herbs
🍅 Tomatoes
🌶 Peppers

🌱 The reason most people never start a garden
They watch the videos.

But they never actually plant anything.
Why?
Because they’re afraid of doing it wrong.

But here’s the truth every gardener learns:
You’ll plant things too early.
You’ll plant things too late.
You’ll forget to water something.

And that’s not failure.
That’s how you learn.
The garden teaches by doing — not researching.

And now? The beds are filling. The cucumbers are coming in hot. The kids are asking to help.No, it doesn’t look like the dream garden I sketched out in January—but it feels like home.

So if you’re looking around and thinking, “I’m too late,” please hear this:
🌱 There’s still time.
🌱 Every seed holds potential.
🌱 The only “rule” is to start when you can.

Whether you’ve got a patio, backyard, or just a few containers—you’re allowed to begin now.
