IRON MAIDEN VS. TWO PHONE VIDEOS
Today, some company called WebCapio demanded that we take down two of our Shorts from the Iron Maiden show in Charlotte on September 12 — allegedly for copyright infringement.
YouTube happily removed the videos and slapped our channel with a strike.
And here's the funniest part: those two horrible crimes had been sitting on YouTube for five days. Nobody seemed to care. Then, suddenly — copyright claim, takedown, strike. Apparently, the international operation to save Iron Maiden from two vertical phone videos finally kicked into action.
Of course, we have a pretty good idea where this is coming from. WebCapio is probably just doing someone else's dirty work. The real mastermind, apparently, is Bruce Dickinson himself, who has spent years showing a borderline pathological hatred of people filming Iron Maiden shows.
Bruce, relax. Not everyone can drop a couple hundred bucks on a concert ticket. Sometimes people have to settle for phone videos.
We get it: for some rock stars, even a free 30-second Short from a fan is apparently a threat to the family fortune.
The war is over, Bruce.
