Hey there everyone!

I apologize for being radio silent for a few months, allow for me to share some updates:

The Legends death video is progressing slowly but it is nearly complete. technically. I am recording deaths from SWTOR but it is still going to be a WHILE due to how massive SWTOR is in terms of content, so much so i have considered releasing the video in parts so I can get *something* out sooner. However, even that I don't wanna do because there could easily be deaths from the pre-SWTOR era that I would only find out about during SWTOR research, so thus a part one video including everything before SWTOR would be rendered outdated and need to be re-released.

I could release the parts out of chronological order and just leave all of the Old Republic stuff for a later date, and eventually do a full video with all of the parts included in chronological order, but that depends on audience input. I am more confident that everything post-Old Republic is 100% complete, aside from some deaths listed in the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia that I would have to manually find without Wookieepedia.

If I manage that however, maybe we could do that so yall don't have to wait even longer for the video because of SWTOR being so massive.



The 2025 version of the canon deaths video is basically done, aside a few small things. The reason it hasn't been released yet, even though there hasn't been new Star Wars content for a while, is because new information could easily still be released this year that gives names to previously unnamed characters.

In fact, this happened with the Acolyte encyclopedia that released in June, where some of the Jedi who were killed by the Stranger got official names, and last year, the Eleventh Brother finally got his official Inquisitor designation in December. Considering there is yet another unnamed Inquisitor from Tales of the Underworld, there is another possibility of this happening.

A lot of progress has been made on the EU video, and the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO is all that remains to be finished. The video is likely 80-85% done, and release within a couple of months is looking to be a possibility.

There have been some roadblocks in the production of the EU video, I have to make a new save file and move the current progress over already because the new one is having some strange issues, and I have to peruse through the complete star wars encyclopedia because I know I missed some in there.

For these reasons, the 2025 canon video will just be onscreen deaths, as I don't think I can manage two complete named death videos at the same time. There will be a complete canon video someday, just not this year I suppose.

As for the EU video, its up in the air and I hope to get it out by the end of 2025, but you never know sometimes, could be sooner, could be later.

Useless Analysis

Production on the EU video resumed about a month ago, how much more of it has been completed in that time, might you ask?

A lot.

1. I found a lot of deaths in eras I had already thought were finished, so the video is more thorough now.

2. I have fully completed the KOTOR deaths and those in between it and KOTOR II, meaning all that's left for the Old Repubic era is KOTOR II, SWTOR MMO, and everything in between.

3. More work has been done for the deaths in the Galaxies MMO, for which there are a lot. It is slowly being chipped away at, and its completion will unite two large blocks of progress, the 3600 BBY - 0 ABY block, and the 3 ABY - 24 ABY block. Speaking of the latter block...

4. All of the post-Endor content that is pre-NJO is 100% complete. The Jedi Knight/Mysteries/Outcast/Academy games, the Thrawn trilogy, Black Fleet Crisis, Jedi Academy trilogy, Hand of Thrawn duology, etc etc etc, are all done.

So how much work remains?

1. I need to keep browsing through as many EU sources, obscure and mainstream, as possible in order to ensure the video lives up to the title.

2. As previously stated, KOTOR II - SWTOR MMO needs to be fully researched and implemented into the video file itself.

3. The rest of the Galaxies MMO deaths need to be implemented.

4. NJO - Legacy II needs to completed, with research being necessary from about the beginning of the LOTF books to the Legacy II comics.

With all of this stated, I would say the video is about 70% complete, with 2-3 more months needed in the video production oven before it is ready to be released.

In terms of video length, all of my finished work rounds up to about 6 and a half hours. With there still being quite a few places I need to work on, i estimate the final video length will be somewhere around 8-9 hours. That is a low end estimate, it could be 10 or even 11 hours, depending on how long the SWTOR MMO section ends up being, but that remains to be seen.

I appreciate everyone's patience on this project, I am the only person working on it so that's why its taken so long, but I cannot wait to finally release it :)

(Sidenote, the 2025 canon version of this video may not come out right on January 1, 2026, due to focus being on this video, my apologies for that)

Useless Analysis

Another thing I want to clarify is that due to there being less onscreen Star Wars content being released in 2025, the 2025 video will be a full list of on and offscreen deaths in canon, making it a companion video to the legends video that is currently being worked on. This is mainly so that the 2025 video has some actual new content in it, aside from maybe 30 seconds of new footage from Skeleton Crew and Andor Season 2, and isn't just mostly the 2024 video again.
