Seeing as I have the 7800XT and an Intel Arc A310 in my machine for testing, I thought I'd quickly compare the hardware transcoding performance in Handbrake.
They are practically identical in speed when taking a 4K version of Big Buck Bunny down to a 1080p x265 file, however the Intel version is about 22% smaller with the same quality of output, as far as my tired old eyes can see.
Given the increase in storage prices lately, not to be sniffed at, but admittedly not a good enough reason to buy and run a two card setup unless you have some very specific needs

Opportunity for improvement log #1 - respond to comments in a timely manner rather than letting them build up for weeks.
In my defense, I've been a bit ill lately, but will do better going forward. This weekend's video will be a look at the 1080Ti's performance in the most recent games, then I'll probably be going back to the dual Xeon server to finally get that up and running.
