SEED labs are fantastic; however, the new Macbooks no longer support VirtualBox (specifically, x86 architecture). A cloud-based setup can be a lifesaver in this situation. Students with newer Macbooks (and any other Windows or Linux laptops) can install the SEED VM on the cloud. This is also a great solution for people who do not want a slow-performing machine, as VirtualBox takes a lot of resources to run. Hope this helps!
