In one of the session with Cleas, we talked about parentification. What is it? How it impacts someone mentally and physically?

The conclusion was:
It's okay not to be perfect.
It's okay if you couldn't meet the expectation of elders.
It's okay saying NO to them.

Parentification often occurs when a child is forced to assume responsibilities that typically belong to adults, such as:

Providing emotional support: Acting as a confidante or counselor for parents.
Taking care of household chores: Handling tasks like cooking, cleaning, or paying bills.
Making important decisions: Being responsible for family finances or medical decisions.

Remember, breaking free from parentification is a journey, not a destination. It takes time, patience, and self-care.
By prioritizing your own needs and setting healthy boundaries, you can reclaim your life and build a more fulfilling future.
