We put it into verse, put it in an envelope, put it in a postbox then someone’s put it in your house and that house is in a town and that town ain’t far from here but it doesn’t feel very near and that town is in a state and that state is in a country and that country is in a bad state; there’s a familiar atmosphere about the place.
Dunno if it was in the studio with Marta and Grace and Dani and Blossom and Gwyneth, or on tour with Blossom and Sergio and Craig and Holly, or in Eiger studios, or Lewis’s attic in Headingley, or on the Megabus to London or in a studio with Theo or on Pete’s sofa bed or in a zoom call with Alex during lockdown or a mentoring session with Scott or at uni or back in our hometowns or back when we were in our mother’s bellies that This Could Be Texas truly started. Here’s to them, and to in-betweens and doctor who and to sublime landscapes and to ignoring the terrorist of talbot street and to desire paths and to home, whatever that actually is.
What we’ve made is a biblically accurate musical machine from outer space and it has finally crash landed x
