Passing NALTO — Over Japan’s Famous Ōnaruto Bridge 🌊

Description:
When approaching Osaka, we often pass the waypoint NALTO, named after Naruto. From this point, you can spot the Ōnaruto Bridge, part of the Kobe–Awaji–Naruto Expressway connecting Honshu and Shikoku across the Naruto Strait.

Opened in 1985, the bridge was originally designed as a combined road-and-rail structure, but plans for the Shikoku Shinkansen were later dropped, leaving it as a road-only bridge. In 2000, the unused rail space was transformed into Uzu no Michi — a walkway where visitors can admire the Naruto whirlpools from above. Today, it remains a major tourist attraction and was selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Roads in 1987.

The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite and the fifth largest satellite in the solar system. The average distance from the center of the Earth to the center of the Moon is approximately 384,400 km, which is about the distance of placing 30 Earths in a row. The diameter of the Moon is about one-fourth that of Earth and roughly one-four-hundredth that of the Sun, measuring 3,476 km. Its volume is about 1/50 that of Earth, and the gravity on its surface is approximately 17% of Earth’s gravity. The Moon orbits the Earth in about 27.3 days, and the changing positions of the Earth, Moon, and Sun create the Moon’s phases over a 29.5-day cycle.

As the celestial body closest to Earth, the Moon is the only extraterrestrial body that humans have directly explored. In 1969, the first unmanned spacecraft launched by humanity reached the Moon, and by 1972, humans had conducted six manned lunar missions.

On September 26, 2009, India’s lunar probe Chandrayaan-1 discovered the presence of water on the Moon.

I’m not particularly fond of alcohol, but when I feel lonely or just need a little comfort, I sometimes enjoy a drink or two. For me, that small amount seems to help me get through those moments in life.

Of course, everyone has a different standard when it comes to alcohol—some like it, some don’t, and everyone has their own preferences. I’m curious to know what your personal relationship with alcohol is like.

As flight crew members, the very first thing we do when reporting for duty is take a breathalyzer test. According to aviation law, the legal limit is a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of no more than 0.02%. Among the many aviation regulations, this is the only one with a clearly defined numerical limit.

Here’s a fun little story—some crew members use mouthwash before their shift. But if they blow into the tester right after, it can actually trigger a FAIL result due to the alcohol in the mouthwash. Since the test can only be taken up to three times, some people get startled and quickly rinse their mouths thoroughly with water before trying again. It can be quite a comical scene!

It seems that due to the ongoing investigation, it may still take considerable time to fully restore the runway at Haneda Airport.
However, the airport appears to be managing a busy day by operating other runways in the meantime.
I sincerely hope that all those affected by the accident will make a swift and smooth return to their daily lives.
