Happy 60th anniversary from Star Trek. 30 years ago, on this day, Blue's Clues is an American interactive educational children's television series created by Traci Paige Johnson, Todd Kessler, and Angela C. Santomero. It premiered on Nickelodeon through the Nick Jr. block on September 8, 1996, and concluded its run on August 6, 2006, with a total of six seasons and 143 episodes. The original host of the show was Steve Burns, who left in 2002 and was replaced by Donovan Patton (as "Joe") for the fifth and sixth seasons. The show follows an animated blue-spotted dog named Blue as she leaves a trail of clues/paw prints for the host and the viewer to figure out her plans for the day. 20 years ago, on this day, Penelope is a 2006 fantasy romantic comedy film directed by Mark Palansky and starring Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, Catherine O'Hara, Peter Dinklage, Richard E. Grant, and Reese Witherspoon (who also produced the film). The film tells the story of a young heiress named Penelope Wilhern, who was born with the snout of a pig due to a curse that was placed on her family by a vengeful witch, believing the only way to break the curse is to find another blue blood who truly loved her. An African-American restaurant supply manager (Goldberg), must become the foster mother of an orphan Caucasian boy (Osment), after the death of his mother, who she was childhood friends with.
