I had the corporate IT job day after day but it wasn't fulfilling. After finding out about solo long distance backpacking I decided to go on a lot of long backpacking trips and otherwise live out of my converted 4Runner. Driving around this great country and see everything I feel like seeing, mostly outdoor activities, is what I really wanted to do.
In 2018 I thru hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, in 2019 I thru hiked the Wonderland Trail, in 2021 I thru hiked the Arizona Trail, and now in 2022 I will be thru hiking the Appalachian Trail.

We've been driving through Canada heading to Alaska so I'm a wee bit behind on videos. Part 1 of our trip comes out tomorrow though! We have had so many firsts along this trip so far already that it's been a very memorable trip. Hope everybody is doing great!

No video today, folks. There won't be another for almost a week while we finish up our hikes. We can see Katahdin from where I am now!
In the next video I hurt myself slipping on a wet root and it got worse day by day. The 2nd photo is during my zero in Monson. It swelled up pretty badly and had me concerned. Now though we are still hiking and we reduced our daily miles a little so we will likely summit on Saturday morning.

We are still chugging along in Maine and both feeling well. Both of us have some residual coughing fits so we tell anybody that wants to camp near us that we may be a little loud all night. Other than that we have 220.4 miles to go!
