StepsToTheSelf is a quiet walk within —
where ancient echoes of the Upanishads
meet the stillness of your own heart.
Through Vedantic wisdom and gentle reflection,
each step unveils the self behind the self,
Come, journey inward —
not to become more, but to realise who you already are.
Take each step, not outward, but within —
toward the One who has always been watching

StepsToTheSelf

With humble prostrations to Adi Shankaracharya, we are starting the journey into Spiritual wisdom with Dhakshinamurthy Stothram from next week 🙏🙏

Dakshinamurthy, (The south facing form of God Shiva) is a manifestation of the power of grace. The desire for spiritual knowledge is the greatest form in which the grace of God comes into our lives. And Dakshinamurthy is the very personification of this spiritual knowledge. Therefore He is the First Guru or the Guru of all Gurus.
Lord Shiva as Dakshinamurthy appeared in the form of a 16-year-old youth sitting under a Banyan tree, imparting spiritual wisdom to elderly sages. Interestingly Adi Shankaracharya was himself 16 years old when he made this divine composition.
Though Dakshinamurthy Stotram is often used as prayers to God Shiva or Guru, Adi Shankaracharya primarily uses these verses to teach the ultimate nature of the Self, which takes us beyond all sorrows by destroying our ignorance. 🙏🙏

StepsToTheSelf

Swami Vivekananda's powerful statement highlights the ongoing commitment required for genuine personal and spiritual evolution. While external teachings and guidance can offer direction, they are merely signposts. True journey necessitates consistent internal practice. The quote implicitly calls for dedicated effort, introspection, and the practical application of principles, as it is through this diligent engagement that one truly "grows from the inside out." Your own soul becomes the teacher precisely because it is through your persistent efforts and experiences that profound inner shifts occur, leading to authentic spiritual realization. It's a call to action for self-mastery through continuous self-exploration and application.

This profound quote from Ramana Maharishi emphasizes that true service to others begins with self-realization. It suggests that by achieving a deep understanding of one's own true nature, an individual naturally radiates peace, wisdom, and compassion. This internal transformation, in turn, positively impacts the entire world, creating a ripple effect of well-being and enlightenment far more powerful than external actions alone.
