This is the 3rd post from the ALBUM OF THE WEEK series. And this time it goes to...................................................

THE FOURTH LEGACY by US power metal band KAMELOT!

This is an epic power metal album and the first that catapulted Kamelot to international recognition.

This was the 2nd album to feature Roy Khan on vocals. This album easily demonstrates why Khan was considered 1 of the best metal singers during the Kamelot's peak (1999-2005).

It's no wonder I am constantly hooked whenever I listen to this album. In spite of countless listens in the last years, I am always reminded of the sheer brilliance of the compositions and musical delivery. While the album doesn't offer the technical playing of some other famous power metal albums, musically, it's one of the best ever made. The orchestration, guitars, drums & vocals blend masterfully and take you back in time.

Play me the title track "The Fourth Legacy", "Nights Of Arabia", "Until Kingdom Come" or "Lunar Sanctum" (to mention a few) any time any day, I will sing along and scream my lungs out.

Give it a spin, you won't be disappointed.

EMPYREAN REALMS by US power metal band ARMORY!

This is an epic power metal album from start to finish which leaves you holding your breath for me and rarely lets go. Fast double bass drumming with interesting passages, twin harmony guitars then epic solos and above all great songwriting.

The vocals to me sounds like a mix Tobias Sammet (EDGUY, AVANTASIA) & Todd La Torre (QUEENSRYCHE).

Song recommendations: "Eternal Mind", "Reflection Divine ", the instrumental "Horologium" & "Fate Seeker" (listen to that epic closing section)
