Heya Youtube Community

I'm sorry to share some negative news. The type of content I post on this channel is just a small part from my Twitch - my gaming VODs and clips. I also have a science channel on insta, youtube etc. Despite me being on so many channels - this channel specifically has become a very negative space in the last 6 months. I've received death threats over how I play games. Really. I already do so much science outreach and get targeted as a woman in physics and games enough as it is - and I don't think I can take it much longer. I don't often speak about mental health, not because it's not important, but rather because of me as a character - if I talk about it, it becomes a problem for me. That being said, enough is enough.

I've been tempted to mass delete all the VODs on this channel and shut it down but every time I am tempted to do it, I see my first reaction to the face huggers in Black Mesa, my honest reaction to my favourite game of all time RE4 Remake, and so many other precious memories. I shared a lot with my community.

I'm not sure where I will go with this channel down the line - I might just remove the ability to leave comments and/or will delete everything or just unlist - I'm not sure. Just know something has to change. I don't have thick skin and I can admit that. It's hard enough teaching physics on social media and dealing with those comments, I can't handle an innocent action such as playing video games being a target at me as well.

Thanks again for those who were kind - that's always appreciated and often overshadowed by the negativity. Thank you for watching, lurking and liking. Take care of yourselves.

Happy 6 year anniversary when I first pressed "go live" button on twitch. What an extraordinary moment looking back at what Twitch means to me now. Literally every social media platform now stems from twitch.

Delighted to announce that I finally am doing a big game again! My concern from doing large games ever since I became a full-time lecturer is that I have a lot of breaks from streaming and gaming. My priority is always going to be my research and students and it's hard to get back into a game after a break.

The game I'm going through bit by bit is dragon Age Origins! The only mods are game crashing mods, everything else is vanilla. First vod uploaded in the next few days!

My new year resolution was to go back and make YouTube specific content at least once a month (ie not just VODs or clips from my twitch).

This is going to be a unique one coming to the channel where I do the physics of a funny scene from Baldurs Gate 3! Out in a few hours I hope if all goes well! 💥🎊

As I Am Finishing SOMA (I'm behind on uploads, they should be upcoming now all this week!) I am deciding between the next two games for spooktober. Prey or/and Silent Hill 2 Remake. I might have time for both, but whatever wins in this vote will be the first I'll play!

I have personal news to share ❤️ TLDR I tried this content creation world for 9 months and it was an awesome success! However, it's time for me to go back to physics as a researcher and a lecturer.
