Two years ago I moved from one of the wealthiest zip codes in California to one of the most modest zip codes in Tennessee. Most of the change I’ve experienced is wonderful. But this little bug seriously has me reconsidering everything. First I thought it was mosquitoes, then bedbugs. But I finally saw one of these s.o.b.’s on my skin and put it under a microscope. This is a chigger. The internet has me thinking this is how it looks when it is a nymph, because only the nymphs bite humans. The itch is unbearable—I would take as many mosquito bites any day, hands down.

I attended this show to do "recon" for ‪@SliceofLightGallery‬ (I'm the Operations Manager). Eye-opening experience. Still trying to wrap my head around this concept...It's a show featuring galleries, NOT individual artists (although some galleries only feature one artist). So the majority of attendees are art collectors and investors looking for new galleries to invest in...A collector/investor will check out what "hot new artists" a gallery has found, size up their work, determine if they like the art and if they agree with the gallery's choices, and if all those criteria are met, they will place their trust in that gallery. That way, the collectors/investors themselves don't have to waste their time and money trying to search one-by-one for artists worth investing in. I think that's the concept.
