Cultivating Our Good Life - Tap o’ Noth Farm

WELCOME to Cultivating Our Good Life, the permaculture living vlog of James and Rosa of Tap o' Noth Farm.

Situated on the side of Tap o' Noth hill in Aberdeenshire, NE Scotland our home and farm is an 8 acre permaculture designed Forest Farm and family homestead.
The farm began in 2012 with the aim of demonstrating cold climate, applied permaculture design and as a place to take care of the family's basic needs.
James and Rosa have been producing ecologically grown veggies for a 50 member CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) veg box scheme for the past six years while keeping dairy cows and goats, sheep and geese to graze their areas of food forests and wood fuel coppice and chickens to sell eggs alongside the organic veggies. The farm has hosted many visitors, volunteers and students, offering Permaculture Design Courses and workshops on regenerative living and reskilling on traditional crafts and lifestyles. The aim is to create a farm that functions like a forest ecosystem.

Evening all! We're so pleased to bring you a second video from Regenerative Media....
"Following on from the Agroforestry video we made at Tap o' Noth Farm, we now look more deeply into their whole farm design, way of life, thoughts on regenerative agriculture, and their beautiful homestead. From keeping goats for making cheese and using the manure for the market garden, to using chickens as forest birds to help with managing and developing forest gardens, Tap o' Noth Farm have created a truly magical permaculture paradise in Scotland."

Big thank you to ‪@OlightUK‬ for sending us this crazy bright headlamp, helping us see our way around the farm for our evening chores plus illuminating our latest stretch of brash hedge in a very cool way!
We've never had such a bright torch! We're looking forward to testing this head torch even more, but so far we can really recommend them.

Cultivating Our Good Life - Tap o’ Noth Farm

Hi folks! We're really sorry there was no FARMVLOG upload on Monday - we just came out of five nights of no power after storm Arwen came crashing through Scotland. We were totally fine - stayed nice and cozy by the fire which meant we could cook, we had water because we're on our own spring, just very dark long nights and lots of snow. The storm took down a few large trees on the farm but luckily no fences down. But, it meant no video upload. We have it ready for uploading next Monday! Cheers!
