Gao Tuo accidentally ran into Ma Heng and asked for his help while escaping from his dad. (his dad actually set him up to bump into Shen Wenlang)

It was still early in his escape, he was only a few months pregnant. Ma Heng was shocked, because he had always thought Gao Tu (the guy he secretly liked since childhood) was a Beta..... but turns out he's an Omega, and pregnant too!
Ma Heng rushed him to a nearby hospital because Gao Tu's condition was getting worse.

Normally, he shouldn't even have been able to get pregnant the first time... but because it happened during both heat & rut plus their high compatibility, it happened.

And Gao Tu had been on suppressant meds and pheromone-blocker injections for years. Most dangerous of all, being pregnant without an Alpha's soothing pheromones is extremely risky.

That's why his health collapsed
Gao Tu's state was critical. His pheromone glands were swollen and red, his heart stopped multiple times, and it took doctors 4 hours to revive him.

After stabilizing him, they operated on his pheromone glands and implanted a blocker at the back of his neck so his body wouldn't release too much pheromone.

Luckily, the baby survived and was still healthy.

The doctors then checked Gao Tu's pheromone compatibility with Ma Heng... because right now he desperately needed Alpha soothing pheromones (ideally from the baby's father).

The result? Their match was over 65%. which met the donation standard.

So Ma Heng became his volunteer Alpha, giving him calming pheromones for 14 days until Gao Tu recovered enough to leave the hospital.
A week after being discharged, Gao Qing (Gao Tu's sister) told him that Shen Wenlang was still looking for him. So Ma Heng helped him escape again.

The first time Shen Wenlang came to Gao Tu's old apartment, Gao Tu had just changed his pheromone patch and slipped away. Gao Qing let Shen Wenlang in, and he caught a faint trace of Gao Tu's scent....enough to confirm he had been there.

Meanwhile, Shen Wenlang went insane searching.

He bought tens of thousands of ads across three cities, broadcasting Gao Tu's face everywhere.

People were gossiping. "Is this really just for an old classmate or subordinate? Isn't this a bit much?"
The reason Gao Tu kept trying to escape over and over again was because he firmly believed what Shen Wenlang had said: if his Omega got pregnant, he would get rid of the baby.

He was just scared of being forced to have an abortion.

From Gao Tu's perspective, he had no idea why Shen Wenlang was going crazy searching for him.

The first time he was tricked by his own dad into meeting Shen Wenlang, he already felt awful, because his dad wasn't a good person.

For an Omega like him, just being under an Alpha's suppressing pheromones made it impossible to resist. That's why he was so scared and refused to meet him.

At the same time. Shen Wenlang entered rut was craving his mate like crazy.

"Does this one look good, Mr. Shen?" Just a short clip. But Shen Wenlang watched it hundreds of times out of pure longing.
He got so desperate he called Gao Ming (Gao Tu's dad) asking if Gao Tu had contacted him.

The dad said no, then added: "Thank you, Mr. Shen, for saving my life! And for the money you gave me. I promise, the moment

I hear anything about Gao Tu, I'll tell you right away. Trust me, if I find him, he'll be yours."

Shen Wenlang didn't really want to do this..... deep down, he knew what Gao Tu's father was like. But he was just trying every possible way to see Gao Tu again.

Shen Wenlang kept spreading missing notices everywhere.

He even tried pulling Gao Tu's medical records from the hospital, but they had disappeared after his discharge. Still, he managed to find out that Gao Tu had been in critical condition back then, but had narrowly survived.
A doctor told Shen Wenlang:

"He has an Alpha by his side now. Very good-looking. very caring. Their compatibility isn't low either, The Alpha's soothing pheromones seem to be helping him. So, Mr. Shen don't worry. Whether Gao Tu wants that child or not, as long as this Alpha is with him, he shouldn't face life-threatening risks again."

Back home, Shen kept replaying the doctor's words in his mind. What do you mean, 'whether he wants the child or not " "What do you mean, 'as long as that Alpha is there"

He thought: That's not just Gao Tu's child, it's his too! He's still alive. Why should some other Alpha be the one soothing his Omega and his baby?
He began to suspect that Ma Heng had taken Gao Tu out of the country. So he checked the travel records, turns out neither Gao Tu nor Ma Heng had left. And Ma Heng's passport had already expired and hadn't been renewed. Meaning...they were still in the country.

But in reality, his Omega dad was the one who had helped both of them escape the country.

The fact that Wenlang said he didn't like children is bc he knows betas can't impregnate or get pregnant and had already subconsciously accepted he would never have children because Gaotu is a beta and he is the only one he wants to spend the rest of his life with😭💔.

Those words cut him deeply. How could another Alpha have the right to stand by Gao Tu's side and their child's, while he was still alive.

he begged them wholeheartedly but his pheromones was set lose because his having a panic attacks, and people saw him as a threat.

That night haunted him. Wenlang wanted Gao Tu back. He wanted to hold him again, to kiss his forehead. He was even ready to throw away all his pride, if only Gao Tu would return to him.
