At the time of producing this, I rode the AI art hype train. It seemed like an exciting new tool for artists to use. I was unaware of the unethical practices of AI art by Midjourney, until after publishing this video. It is apparent now that AI art by programs like Midjourney is unoriginal, irresponsible, and disrespectful to working artists. It is the very opposite of what JSR is about. If I could remove the few AI images that were included in this video I would. Since it is too late now, I made sure to never include AI art like that in my work again. I love the JSR community and all the artists involved, thanks for being so passionate about being anti-AI art; your voice is important and your voice is heard. ๐Ÿ’š

Trying something new. I haven't seen many icebergs about true crime in the world of gaming, so I made one. Enjoy! โœŒ๏ธ

Channel / life update: Hope you're all doing well! I've been drowning in classwork working towards 4 degrees, completing 3 of them last week! I still have plans to make documentaries and video essays on this channel, along with 4K gameplay videos of JSRF, but while I've been away, I've been discovering a new love for abstract art and I'd like to extend it here. Abstraction has helped me find new ways of expressing myself, freely, especially in regards to my ongoing experience living with a chronic migraine disorder. That said, I will also be posting video art here. What does that mean? With video art, I aim to reimagine the concept of a "YouTube video" as a blank canvas for abstract art, to use it as a new means for expression. I use similar methods on the videos as I do when creating physical art by collaging old images, except here I can pair it with motion and sound to fine tune the atmosphere and/or feeling I want to convey. So if you start seeing me post some random, obscure looking/sounding videos, that's why. ๐Ÿ˜†

I'm also working on a video essay about "the illusion of choice in rpgs", so keep an eye out for that. ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ If you have any examples of this in gaming, please let me know. So far I'm covering it in relation to Baldur's Gate 3, as well as Bethesda, CDPR, TellTale, and Zelda games.

That's all for now folks. Stay curiousโœŒ๐Ÿผ

As a full-time student studying Multimedia Art, Studio Art, and Film, I've been making a lot of art recently. That said, it's easy to get caught up in the mentality that social media platforms condition us artists to believe in: art is only good if it has views, likes, shares, or generates follows/subscriptions. That's bullshit. That kind of art only pleases the algorithm and the pockets of the billionaire boyz that run them. Sometimes good art is bad art and it's important to remember that. Unconventional art can be powerful, it can make you feel things you've never felt, it can help you discover things about yourself and your surroundings that you might not have been aware of. So if you're on a path towards creating something new, don't forget to embrace the obscure, revel in the flaws, and explore the ugly, the uncertain. Sometimes it's through that, that we find our voice and maybe even ourselves.

Algorithms are killing the authenticity and rawness of creating, all while building barriers between creators and their audiences. Iโ€™m on a journey to find a space in which I can create freely without feeling I must only create to appease billionaires and their curations. I want to create for the sake of my soul, for the sake of genuinely connecting with others through our passions, for the sake of shining lights on stories untold. Spaces like YouTube, Instagram, X, & TikTok are pushing content creation through a dense filter. And Iโ€™m not here for it. While I will still be present on these platforms and will still post on Youtube, Iโ€™m seeking a new home for supporting my future content creation and artwork. Patreon has recently recognized these divisive shifts for creators on social media and has proposed a promising future on their platform. That said, Iโ€™m hoping the changes on Patreon will help create a home for my art and a safe space for those who want to stay connected and involved with the things I create. If this sounds like something youโ€™re interested in being a part of, I invite you to join me on this journey of expression and discovery through your support on Patreon, totally FREE right now! ๐Ÿ‘ฝ

Since 4/14/23, I've released 3 Jet Set Radio Documentaries and met so many talented, kind, and passionate people along the way. Many of them are featured in these docs. If you haven't already, be sure to check them out in this deep dive compilation!

Thanks for all your patience with me bettering my skill in video and audio production. I know the first doc had some rough audio in places. ๐Ÿซ

After this compilation, I'll be taking a break on JSR docs until the new game releases. I'll still release 4K gameplay vids of JSRF to help preserve it tho. Otherwise stay tuned for new docs & video essays on other topics. Maybe even some short films! โœŒ๏ธ
