Recently, while spending time with a friend, they asked me a question that caught me off guard: “How’s your mental?”
Not the usual, “How are you doing?” that we tend to answer with a quick “I’m fine” or “I’m good”… but something that made me pause and think.
Because the question went deeper — my answer did too.
The truth is, July has been full of ups and downs. And since I spend a lot of time talking about the importance of real conversations around mental health and life, I wanted to take a moment to show up here the same way — honest, reflective, and open.
July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s important to me to keep encouraging these conversations in our communities — especially where silence has been the norm for too long.
So I’m asking you: How’s your mental? Let’s not just check in — let’s check deep.

Hey Everyone! It's been a while since I've uploaded an episode. I haven't abandoned my podcast and still have a love and passion for what I do.
I thought that I'd share a little bit of what's going on behind the scenes.Life has been a bit chaotic with balancing all that I have on my plate and found myself in a place of being burnt out. I had to take some time to take care of me. Throughout this break I've been busy recording quality conversations, but I am just a bit behind on my editing. I am fully committed to getting caught up with editing and resuming my regular upload schedule.

September is suicide prevention month and this week is suicide prevention week. A majority of the content that I create is centered around mental health and self-love.
I’ve shared my own struggles with my mental health in my podcast and I want to continue to have the conversation and raise awareness about mental health - specifically suicide awareness and prevention.
Check in with and on your strong friends , and if you notice any of the warning signs in a loved one , don’t hesitate to have the hard conversation with them. Just because you ask someone about your concerns about their suicidal ideation or their possible risk for a suicide attempt , does not increase their likelihood of suicide. In fact it may help save a life ! 💛#suicideprevention#suicidepreventionmonth#mentalhealth#mentalhealthawareness
