I have to work today. I set up in a new spot with my climber last night. It was tight and I only had a small window to shoot through. About 6:30 a buck and a doe were strolling right for my window! The buck was close…about 8 yards. The doe was about 12 yards and behind him. Right before he stepped into my window he stopped. I was ready to draw back but need him to take a few more steps. He knew something was up and trotted off taking the doe with him. That’s bow hunting and it was awesome.

Bow season is here! I can’t help but wonder about these old stands, the men that sat there, the deer harvested or missed? My favorite part of living the hunter lifestyle is the stories, the memories I carry and have yet to make. Best of luck to all my fellow hunters out there.
