Is The Last of Us Part III already in development? New rumors are circulating online

According to insiders, Naughty Dog may already be working on The Last of Us Part III. Reports suggest the game is in active development and could release after Intergalactic and a potential new Uncharted, both currently rumored for around 2027.

There are reasons to take this seriously. Neil Druckmann previously mentioned that the team has a concept for another chapter in the story. With the success of the HBO series and Naughty Dog’s ability to handle multiple AAA projects simultaneously, this scenario seems вполне plausible → this scenario seems quite plausible.

That said, it’s important to note: there is no official confirmation from Sony or Naughty Dog yet. At this stage, this remains a chain of insider reports that aligns with the overall direction of the franchise, but nothing beyond that.

On the other hand, if Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet releases in 2027, the window for announcing the studio’s next major project could realistically open within the next 1–2 years.
