Seven the General – an award winning emcee/actor/songwriter from Detroit, Michigan with a Bachelor of Science (Music Business) & Inductee into the Detroit Institute of Arts permanent archive (Hip-Hop archive by Jenny Risher)

At 17 wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 10-25 years in the MDOC he would spend nearly a decade educating himself and perfecting his craft. “The Back 40” bka the prison yard is where he earned his respect. The title of “The General” was given to the undefeated emcee based on his ability to mobilize massive crowds of followers at times disrupting the security of the facility. Since his release Seven has not allowed his past to be neither crutch nor badge of honor, he is very active in the community as well as the Detroit Music & Film industries. The Detroit emcee first starred in and co-produced the now infamous crime documentary Detroit Murder City Film, which is, now stored in Michigan collegiate library’s as a reference tool for Criminal Justice courses.
