Cato, featuring Sue Tompkins, is out now with a new video directed by Sue. Watch and listen here: sleafordmods.ffm.to/demisedeluxe
Cato came out of reminiscing about the 70s Pink Panther films. Like a lot of my lyrics, it draws from being the mop-topped 7-year-old in flares, sat in front of a large wooden telly. The character of Cato is channelled through Sue as anxiety personified. Tightly wound, hiding, and ready to attack at any minute.
The track is part of the extended version of The Demise Of Planet X, featuring nine additional tracks from the album sessions: demos, alternate versions and unreleased material that didn’t make the album first time round.
16 Oct - Rockhal, Luxembourg (with KETA (DJ set)) 25 Oct - Les Docks, Lausanne (with ALT-R) 28 Oct - House of Culture, Helsinki (with KISSA) 30 Oct - Kablys, Vilnius (with Veiveris) 1 Nov - Stodoła, Warsaw (with Not Your Saints) 3 Nov - Arena, Vienna (with CULK) 4 Nov - Kino Šiška, Ljubljana (with Mal Pre Mal) 6 Nov - MIX Festival, Istanbul 7 Nov - Floyd, Athens 28 Nov - Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam (supporting The Prodigy) 11 Dec - Barezzi Festival, Parma
Happy birthday to my friend and musical partner, Andrew Fearn. As meticulous with his garden (not a euphemism) as he is with his music. His garden at home is deeply engineered and is a marvel to look at. But it’s more than just a well tended patch of land, it also represents the happiness which I can see he’s found too. Happy birthday to you my friend. Jason x
We’ve got the full summer spread: T-shirts, sleeveless tees, aprons, sports socks and caps. Fastest fingers will get a free sticker included with their order as a little thank you from us.
