#simplelife
For years I used this platform to listen to music or to search for occasional how-to's. For some reason I saw a "Live" in my feed. It was several ladies just chatting among themselves so I clicked it to listen. To my surprise there was a chat to the side. I sat here reminiscing of the old days of Yahoo and MSN group chats. I still (after all these years) miss that, the people I met and all that I learned along the way.
The people that I have encountered on YouTube have opened up a whole new world for me. I just want to say thank you to all of you that have helped me, answered my questions and put up with this old lady's craziness. I won't call you out but you know who you are. I appreciate each and every one of you!
Thank you also for all the other channels you have led me to. They are both informative and entertaining.
The crude videos you find on this channel are my attempt to show you that I did listen and am trying to #dothethings

Yesterday, I stopped at a store and some movement out the car window caught my eye. Looking up, I saw this beautiful hawk land on the top of the pole. Sitting there for the longest time, I noticed the clear blue sky and could see the leaves on the trees in the distance. White oaks, water oaks, poplars and a few cedars. (Others that I didn't know the names of)
Just seven weeks ago I couldn't see this power pole at all and I don't remember the last time I saw a bird well enough to know what it was. Everything blurred all together like a watercolor painting that got caught in the rain.
So thankful for my eyesight and grateful for your prayers. I appreciate you all!

**Update 9-18** Surgery went well. Took a lot longer this time but I'm home and all is well. Thanks again for all the prayers!

Tomorrow's the day! I'll be having my left eye surgery in the morning at 7:00 a.m. That means a very early wake up!
I'll check in as I can. Thank you all for the prayers!
Looks like this little hen got the memo that I can't bend over to collect eggs. She's laying them eye level on top of the rabbit cage....lol

*Update* Post-op (Friday)
I'm going to start with this. Please, please get to a good, reputable optometrist and have your eyes checked every year!
I had no idea how bad my vision was until I noticed that I couldn't tell which light was on at traffic lights. Ya'll, I was literally just following the traffic to get where I was going and didn't even realize it!
It's been a struggle to read for years but I figured, well.. I'm old! That's just how it is. There's probably 37 pairs of reading glasses all over the house, in all ranges of strengths. Nooo... don't do it! Go get your eyes examined by a professional!
It was about 10-11:00 last night when I could tell that I could see peoples faces. We had a bad storm last night so I left early for my appointment. (I drove myself) The fog was thick before daybreak. As soon as I got to the paved road, I could actually see the lines on the road, read the signs and the headlights of oncoming cars didn't blind me!
My optometrist was so surprised when she checked my eyes this morning. I am so blessed to have found her!
There's still the surgery for the other eye and lots of pre-op and post-op appointments to go but I'm ready.
Thank you all for following me in this journey but most of all thank you for your prayers.

*update* Surgery went well.
My eye is very light sensitive and feels like it has a bucket of sand in it.
I go back in the morning for them to check it.
Sorry it's taken so long for me to get back to you all. I'm just now sober enough to read a little bit 🤣
1st cataract surgery is in the morning. It's going to be an early and long day. Friday morning I have to go back for post-op even earlier. 6 more appointments scheduled to go! I'll be glad when all this running back and forth is over!
Ya'll behave and I'll check in when I can.

Just a heads up.. Especially to the channels that I mod for.
A lot of lives have been missed for the past few months and for that I appologize.
Struggling with my eyes for what seems like forever but I've been listening to as many as I can along with your videos and hitting that 👍
I finally saw an optometrist yesterday and have an appointment next week with the ophthalmologist.
Cataract surgery will be scheduled as soon as possible.
I'll be around as much as possible, even if you don't see me 🧐 It's ok, I probably can't see you either 😎

Well the thunderstorms of last week went all the way around me. I think the closest it got to me was about 8 miles.
Not a single drop of rain for weeks now. I can't do this ya'll!
Probably going to end up with fried chickens in the run if we don't get a break!
This is from the FB page of our local weather channel.

Looks like I'll be growing FRIED okra, beans, peppers, strawberries and watermelon!
*Edited to add* I just saw that we have some strong thunderstorms coming during the week.
It's going to be like a sauna here!

Grocery store ginger is doin' it ya'll!
I don't know what's happening under the soil but the growth is beautiful!
Something is trying to nibble on it. I'm hoping Castile peppermint soap will take care of that.
