Chief Electoral Officer, U.T. Chandigarh, Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, today addressed a press conference and informed that the Enumeration Phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone towards preparing an accurate, inclusive and transparent Electoral Roll in the Union Territory.
She informed that the Enumeration Phase was conducted from 15 June 2026 to 14 July 2026 under the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to verify and update the Electoral Roll through comprehensive field verification and active public participation.
Present during the press conference were Additional Chief Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS; Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Saurabh Arora, PCS; Electoral Registration Officer, Sh. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS; and Media Nodal Officer-cum-Director Public Relations, Sh. Rajiv Tewari.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Electoral Registration Officer, U.T. A Video Conference was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Electoral Officer, U.T. Chandigarh to review the preparedness for the next phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the Rationalization of Polling Stations.
The progress of preparatory activities was reviewed and necessary directions were issued to ensure timely execution, effective coordination and meticulous planning for the successful implementation of the upcoming phase of SIR.

Chandigarh has successfully achieved 100% digitization of Enumeration Forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Roll 2026.
This milestone has been made possible through the dedicated efforts of election officials and the enthusiastic participation of the electors of Chandigarh.
