Caring for a fruit tree doesn’t have to be difficult, but it should be tackled with some strategy. Do so, and you’ll enjoy the fruits of that labor.

We've had this pear tree for over 20 years and neglected to properly prune it. Over the years, we noticed that the sizes of our our pears were diminishing. Last year, we had the tree properly pruned, which resulted in exponential pear growth.


A wind storm took out two of our large branches. To our surprise, another large branch broke off yesterday. Pears were everywhere!

The revelation:
1. I learned that strategically pruning is important and saves the tree from expending its energy in the wrong direction, thus diminishing its fruit.

2. Strategically removing some of the fruit from the branches will prevent overloading the branch by the weight of the fruit.

3. Providing support to the branches will help them bear the weight of the fruit that they are carrying.

4. You have to be intentional about taking care of your fruit tree (life). Don't take on too much, prune what needs to be pruned, and pluck what needs to be plucked.


Your fruit (life) will be healthy, and you will stand under the weight.
