’Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the gym,
Not a strap was left stirring,
No plates, bars, or pins.

The tables stood silent,
Green pads in the glow,
As champions slept,
Dreaming of matches and biceps to grow.

Michael crept in,
Pajamas, bare feet,
Drawn by the hum
Of that table so sweet.

He grinned at the thought
Of the battles to come
A wish for Levan,
The uncontested ONE.

Across the hall, Devon slept tight,
Dreaming he’d toproll Vitaly all night.
Ermes dreamed horsepower,
Relentless and fast,
Jerry saw side pressure,
Built thick to the last.

Todd Hutchings gritted,
Bone-on-bone grind,
While Paul Linn chased angles
Sharp, vicious, and timed.

Then suddenly movement.
A presence. A glow.
Not St. Nick… but the GOAT,
John Brzenk, moving slow.

No bells, no reindeer,
No red velvet coat
Just quiet confidence,
And decades in tow.

He nodded once,
As if to say, “You’re close.”
For he held the secrets
No book ever wrote.

Before fading away,
One truth left behind:
Strength wins battles
But wisdom wins time.

Michael stood smiling,
Fire lit in his chest.
The table still waited.
The work came next.
