Tomorrow is the next Terraria state of the game. Do we get a release date?

However long Re-Logic needs is exactly how long we want them to take...Buuuuuuut

Isn't it awesome that Terraria is getting another update!? I know we've been waiting a long time for it at this point but Re-Logic has done such a great job creating this amazing game; I'm happy to let them take all the time they want to give us even more free content. Their love for the game is infectious and I hope we'll get to be excited for even more things they'll be making in the future, whether it's more Terraria or even something else.

Attention fellow Terrarians, I wish to recruit your help in pushing a very important change to the game. If you have a forums account, like this post I made to help put it in front of the developer's eyes. And even if you don't have an account, check it out because I think it'd be a great addition to the game! forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads/hide-unobtai…

If you can't be bothered to click the link, here's what I shared to the forums:

This is something I think a lot of people have overlooked and should be added to make the game more noob friendly while taking nothing away from long time enjoyers of Terraria. The Guide will tell you anything and everything you need when you want to craft something and although wonderful it can also cause as many problems as it solves. Take for instance iron bars. These can be obtained very early in the game and if you give them to the Guide, one thing he'll tell you can be crafted with them is the flamethrower. He also tells you that you need illegal gun parts and most damaging, souls of fright.

A new player may look at the flamethrower, want it [because who wouldn't] and go on a journey to find souls of fright totally unaware that they will be unobtainable for a long time. This results in a totally unnecessary massive waste of time that could be quite frustrating. If it was only the flamethrower that suffered from this, that'd be one thing, but there are many many items the Guide will tell you how to craft before they are ever obtainable.

What I propose is that if a material [not even the item itself], be greyed out and rather than tell the player what it is, the text that appears when you however over it is: "unobtainable." Or perhaps include the items name and just below it in red text say it's unobtainable [One person suggested that this could give the impression that the item will never be obtainable and recommended it say "Not available at this stage of progression" instead or "Currently unobtainable"]. This is a very small change that I think could save countless new players, collectively, hundreds or thousands of hours of needlessly wasted time. If it helps, I've attached a message I received from a frustrated player who wanted to like the game but this exact issue made it hard for them to do so.

Edit: as some people seem to be missing it. The items would not be hidden from the player, just greyed out or dissaturated to indicate they cannot be obtained but you could still see what they are and everything.

Since I've been brining my friend Travis through Terraria for the first time, it had me wondering how many people stuck with the game through its various stages. In about a week I'll be releasing the video on Travis exploring the underworld for the first time and I made this interesting discovery that a whole 10.4% of Terraria's player base has found the underworld but never beaten the wall of fresh. Is it because they never felt like it or never figure it out? How long did it take you to figure it out?

What do you hope Re-logic adds to Terraria for their Palword x Terraria crossover?

Update/edit: the June state of the game announced ONE of the additions

It's pretty remarkable how few people actually finish Terraria and how certain important points of progression are never reached. Since the graph is small, here are some of the details you might miss!

- about 13.3% of people likely never opened the game
- 10% more people have made suitable housing than have made a workbench
- The pre-hardmode boss(es) that has been killed the LEAST are the Eater of Worlds and Brain of Cthulhu [excluding Deerclops because nobody cares]
- 15.5% of people who break shadow orbs and crimson hearts never kill the corresponding boss
- 10.4% of people who enter the underworld never defeated the wall of fresh
- only 28.3% of people make a molten pickaxe but somehow 36% of people have mined hardmode ores
- a shocking 51.8% of people have equipped wings meaning at least 10% of people have obtained fledgling wings and never entered hardmode
- of all Terraria's bosses, Deerclops has been defeated by the smallest number of people followed by empress of light

and yes I am well aware many achievements were added retroactively or had their conditions changed

Did you know, according to Steam achievements, more people have defeated Golem than have raided the jungle temple?

There are various reasons this could have happened, but I find it interesting and kind of funny
