THANK YOU! We made it to 5,000 subscribers. Thank you for your continued support!! 5,000 may. Or sound like a lot, but I appreciate everyone of them!!!
It’s Q&A time! Ask any question you have regarding running! It can be specific to training for a marathon, Boston Marathon, racing in general, injury prevention, mental toughness, gear, something personal about me, etc. I will select a number of the questions. And answer them in a video post. Ask away in the comments, below!!
WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!?! Injured. I've been injured. But we are BACK!!! A new vlog series is starting. A new training cycle. And I will report on the injury. It could not have come at a BETTER time. Stay tuned!!
GOOD MORNING! The time has come! We are heading to Boston, tomorrow morning. As a result, the next videos you will see will be our adventure to Boston, the Marathon Expo, final prep and relaxation and then a race day video and recap! IT IS GOING TO BE CRAZY!!!!!
Also, next week, I will be announcing what we will be doing on this channel , next. I am very excited to share what we have planned, with all of you.
Please wish my wife and I good luck, as we tackle the Boston Marathon on April 15th (also my wife's birthday!)
I hope everyone is having a great day! I wanted to share an email one of my subscribers sent to me, the other day regarding the Boston Marathon and the charity he is running for. Please see the email and check out his charity. He is training HARD to be ready for the Boston Marathon!
This email was sent the people/groups that are supporting his charity: ___________________________________________________________________ Dear Friends:
I just wanted to thank you all so much for your support! We are now 14 days from the Boston Marathon! The training has been amazing and all of you have been Exceptionally generous and I want to thank you all for your support and Dana-Farber is looking at an amazing goal this year! If all Dana-Farber Runners raise $10,000 in donations this year…(Thanks to all of you, we’ve raised $16,000 and still growing!) Dana-Farber will hit $100,000,000 raised in this the 30th year! Thanks to you we have helped Dana-Farber try to reach this amazing accomplishment!
Click on the below link to see how we are doing!
danafarber.jimmyfund.org/goto/TomDillon I was lucky enough to do a 21.5 mile practice run (my longest run yet) on the Marathon course March 23rd with the Dana-Farber team. It was snowing upon arrival pre-run and the temperature at the start was 34 with a windchill of 28! Between that and my regular Florida training I should be ready for almost anything! Additionally, I did that run without headphones as there were probably about 3,000 runners, either locals or other charities out running their last long run before the marathon. It was amazing and it was just practice, so I’ve decided I won’t need music to push me along the Marathon because I have many of you and thousands of other people. Thank you all for the songs you have given me though, they are all in my “training playlist” and when training gets tough I always can associate when a song comes on with who suggested it….It’s made training easy, so thank you!
I have now received my bib number from the Boston Athletic Association. My bib number is 25287, my start time will be in Wave 4 at 11:15am. You will be able to track my progress if you wish by using the 2019 Boston Marathon App (B.A.A. Marathon). If you are planning to go to the Marathon and have an idea where you will be, please let me know and what side of the road and yell really loud. I will try to come over and you can be ready with a camera and we can take a quick selfie along the way (You better have your camera ready though, don’t want too much delay I do have to go 26.2 miles to go…). It’ll be really cool to build a photo album with the pictures along the way…
I have a few goals that I want to share with you all:
1. Think of all of the people who have told me their stories of cancer/ how it has effected their families/think of my family and friends /and remember why I’m running the Boston Marathon! For my Mom and for all of you!
2. Have fun Enjoy the Experience and Finish the Race and Take Some Pictures with People along the way! (It’ll be a great photo album later)
3. Have fun Enjoy the Experience and Finish in under 4 hours and 30 minutes and Still Take Some Pictures along the way!
4. Have fun Enjoy the Experience and Finish in under 4 hours and 20 minutes and finish with a strong kick at the end and Still Take Some Pictures along the way!
5. Have fun Enjoy the Experience and Remember that We all Did this together for a Great Cause and Raised Money for Dana-Farber & Cancer Research, with the Ultimate Goal a World without Cancer!
It was also a slow news day in my hometown of Milford, Massachusetts so they ran the below:
