RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT WHAT YOU DO — RIGHTEOUSNESS IS WHO YOU ARE 

Many people have misunderstood righteousness because they define it by actions rather than nature. But righteousness is not what you do; righteousness is who you are. It is not an activity, it is a state of being. It is a nature.

When people speak of righteousness, they often describe it as being blameless, upright, morally correct, or disciplined. But all these things are not righteousness itself—they are the fruit of righteousness. They are the outward expressions of a righteous man, not the definition of righteousness.

A tree is not called a mango tree because it bears mangoes; it bears mangoes because it is a mango tree. In the same way, a man does not become righteous because he does righteous works; he does righteous works because he is righteous.

Nature Determines Manifestation

In the same way, unrighteousness is not fornication, adultery, lying, or unfaithfulness. These are not unrighteousness itself; they are the fruits of an unrighteous nature. Unrighteousness, like righteousness, is also a matter of being, not merely behavior.

Jesus revealed this truth when He spoke to the Jews and said:

 “You are of your father the devil… he was a liar from the beginning.”

Notice that Jesus spoke of fatherhood. What does a father represent? A father is a source. To say God is Father means He is a source. To say Satan is a father means he is also a source—of a different nature.

When a person is aligned with Satan, they partake of his nature, which is unrighteousness, and naturally manifest its fruits: lies, deception, hatred, murder, and destruction. These actions do not make the person unrighteous; they reveal the unrighteous nature they are connected to.

Righteousness Is Alignment With God

God, too, is a Father—a source. When a man aligns with God, God’s nature becomes that man’s nature. That alignment produces righteousness.

So what is righteousness?

Righteousness is right standing before God.

But this right standing is not based on moral perfection or personal discipline. It is not a standard you achieve through effort. It is a relational alignment—a spiritual union that comes by faith in Jesus Christ.

The moment you believe in Jesus Christ, you are aligned with God. You are reconnected to the right source. And because you are connected to Him, His nature becomes your nature.

Scripture says:

“He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.”

This is not symbolic language. It is a spiritual reality. To be joined to the Lord is to become one spirit with Him. And when you are one spirit with Him, you share His nature. His being becomes your being.

Why a Believer Is Righteous Even When He Falls

This is why a believer who sins does not become unrighteous. Falling into sin does not change your nature; it only reveals areas where the nature of Christ is still being formed.

Your righteousness is not maintained by your perfection; it is established by your faith in Christ. Faith is what aligns you with God, and alignment is what produces righteousness.

Unrighteousness is alignment with Satan. Righteousness is alignment with God.

As long as you remain aligned with Christ—returning, learning, growing, and continuing with Him—His nature continues to be formed in you.

The Birth and Growth of Divine Nature

The Bible says:

“We are born, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God.”

This means the nature of Christ is seeded inside you. Over time, through walking with Him, learning of Him, and yielding to the Holy Spirit, that seed grows. His nature becomes fully expressed within you.

This is why Scripture says:

“He has made us partakers of His divine nature.”

God is not giving you a separate nature to manage alongside His. He is not asking you to imitate righteousness from the outside. He is sharing His own nature with you.

And when that nature becomes fully operational in you, righteousness flows effortlessly. Good works are no longer forced. Holiness is no longer a struggle. Obedience is no longer driven by fear or pressure.

You live right by default, not by constant reminders.

Righteousness Is Being, Not Commandment

Righteousness is not what you are commanded to do. Righteousness is who you are becoming in Christ.

The Holy Spirit is the one who works within you—forming the nature of Christ in you—until you and Him become fully one in expression, just as you are already one in spirit.

When righteousness is understood as nature, not performance, condemnation loses its power, fear loses its grip, and transformation becomes natural.

Righteousness is not effort.

Righteousness is alignment.

Righteousness is identity.

And when you are aligned with God through Christ, you will manifest His life—not by struggle, but by nature.

This news fills my heart with joy

Three days ago, I was before the Lord, I was worshiping, just praising His Majesty, and it downed on me that the Lord want to release those people who are wrongfully imprisoned, and the Spirit of the Lord led me to pray for them, both in Nigeria, and around the world, and this afternoon I found this news online, including some Nigeria people, I even saw a pastor was released from the prison too, so this are testimony of the same Spirits with with I have prayed for you and given you prophetic word, this are not just anyhow testimonies, but you all should let it be a strength to you to wait on God base on the time range I gave you, and believe, just as I have prayed and gave you prophetic words, so it is and AMEN, only keep your heart on the Lord.

I pray that the Lord of all creation will visit you with the manifestation of all your prayers in Jesus name.
