The Assyrian – Chaldean Catholic Mission in Republic of Georgia was established in May 1995 under the direction of the Apostolic Nuncio to Georgia H. E. Archbishop Jean Paul Gobel, in accordance with His Holiness, Chaldean Patriarch of Babylon, Mar Raphael I Bidawid, also H. E. Mar Ibrahim N. Ibrahim Bishop Emeritus of St. Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Catholic Diocese of USA and the Pastor of the Assyrian – Chaldean Catholic Mission in Republic of Georgia, Father Benny Beth Yadgar.
The activity of the Mission was aimed at the revival of the ancient Christian traditions of our nation that after the collapse of the Soviet Union underwent all the difficulties of the post Soviet Union period. Together with the representatives of other nationalities, Assyrians and Chaldeans of Georgia were creating a new country, passing through all the hardships as well as happy and bright moments of country rebirth.
