Sawan Ends, Bhado Begins 🌧️🌿

As the month of Sawan comes to an end, Bhado (Bhadon) begins — a month deeply associated with the monsoon, rain, and the rhythms of rural Punjab.

According to Punjabi folk traditions, Bhado can be both gentle and intense. When the winds blow and the rains arrive, the land comes alive, crops flourish, and birds and animals emerge to enjoy the refreshing weather. But when the air becomes still and the rains disappear, the heat and humidity can become difficult to bear.

For farmers, Sawan and Bhado are vital months. There is an old saying: “When Bhado rains, the earth fills with honey.” 🌾🌧️

As Bhado begins, people pray for abundant and blessed rains — bringing relief from the summer heat and new life to the land.
