So often we see visions of a grim future, Solarpunk is a movement and sci-fi genre that pictures what the world would be like with a sustainable society built upon 100% renewable energy. I'm Lindsay Jane, and the Solarpunk Scene is my exploration of the expanding positive force that is changing the world. At the end of this month on June 29th, myself and a few other Solarpunks will be hosting a virtual event with a full day of speakers! Our keynote speaker is Starhawk, who will be giving a talk on why we need to envision a hopeful future. The day will be full of great speakers and fascinating talks.

Hey everyone! Thank you for your patience with my new season of videos coming out. Obviously there have been a number of delays but it is coming. My next video that will be coming out is a "Solarpunk Gardening Guide". My script editor got back to me with the feedback that it's so information heavy, it may be best to break it into a multi part series.
So my question to you is, what do you want to see?

CHANNEL UPDATE
Hey guys, update from my end. Obviously it's been a while since I've been able to get a video up. From my computer needing to be updated, moving, the Solarpunk Conference, and going back to post secondary, I haven't been able to get the editing done that I'd like to. With that, here's the game plan.
There will be a pause on videos until Spring 2024 so I can create a season of videos, and I will be pausing my Patreon until the videos start up again. I want to make sure you guys are getting quality content from me, and will be coming back with better audio, better editing and more.

Revamping the Shade Garden beneath the Crabapple Tree
I couldn't resist the temptation to embark on a redesign journey for the exit to the backyard beneath our crabapple tree. You can see the 'before' image showcasing an area overwhelmed by an excess of ostrich ferns, creeping charlie, violets, Virginia creeper, hostas, and a handful of other invasive species.
Employing plant varieties already present in different sections of the garden, I cleared out the cluttered space. I allowed ample breathing room for the ferns and introduced Solomon's seal, bleeding hearts, hostas, and sweet woodruff. Noteworthy is that a portion of these species is native, while the others are non-invasive. Eventually I'll be replacing the non-native plants with native ones over time however it's too late in the season to order the appropriate species.
I intend to plant some of these species on the opposite side, and I'll be documenting the progress through images. Additionally, I look forward to sharing updates on the other garden areas slated for transformation!
A full "before" garden tour will be posted to my youtube channel, along with videos showing the garden's transformation into a biodiverse native sanctuary.

Exciting news everyone! Thank you for your patience with waiting on a new video, I'm going to be moving! After nearly 10 years of living in a bachelor apartment with my husband, we're moving to a house where I can film. I'll be releasing new and more exciting content in the coming future and thank you again for your patience during this time of transition!
