CPR for Kids (Ages 1-12)
Check for Responsiveness: Gently tap and shout to see if the child responds. If unresponsive, call for emergency help.
Position the Child: Lay them flat on their back on a firm surface.
Start Chest Compressions:
Place one hand on the center of the chest (use both hands if needed for larger children).
Push down about 2 inches (or 1/3 of the chest depth) at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute.
Give Rescue Breaths:
Tilt the head back slightly, pinch the nose, and cover their mouth with yours.
Give two gentle breaths, watching for the chest to rise.
Continue CPR: Do 30 compressions, followed by two breaths, and keep repeating until help arrives or the child starts breathing.
Important: For infants (under 1 year), use two fingers for compressions, and compress the chest about 1.5 inches deep
