North Carolina has "Sheriff's Sales". This happens when a person loses a lawsuit and owes a debt. The court orders the Sheriff to take and sell the person's property to pay the creditor.
How it works:
The Lawsuit: The creditor must first win a court case against the debtor and get a formal judgment.
The Order: The creditor gets a "Writ of Execution" from the court. This gives the Sheriff the legal power to seize and sell the debtor's property.
The Seizure: The Sheriff can take non-exempt property. This includes cars, boats, jewelry, and even real estate (like houses and land).
The Sale: The Sheriff holds a public auction. The money made from selling the items goes to pay off the debt.

In North Carolina, Silvadene cream (silver sulfadiazine) requires a prescription. A pharmacist is not allowed to hand out free samples of it. Only licensed healthcare providers who have the legal authority to write prescriptions can distribute starter samples.
