Oh hi!!

Yes, I decided it was time to change my username. I made Book Lover Laura in 2020, before I had any idea that I'd grow any kind of presence, and I've spent a lot of time thinking about changing it. As I keep growing (which still is mindblowing), it's only going to get harder to make the switch to something else.

So here we are! Nothing is changing but the name. You'll be getting the exact same bookish content, but with a name that just feels a little more "me" where I'm at now.

I just launched my brand new Bindery page, and after much thought and consideration, I’ve decided to shut down my Patreon. The discord will remain open indefinitely, so if you aren’t interested in making the move with me to Bindery, don’t worry, we will still be able to chat! Billing on Patreon is currently paused and the page will become inactive 11/17.

The reason for the switch is because I want to spend more time focusing on the books I’m reading, and Bindery is made for exactly that purpose. Think of it like a blog and Patreon had a baby, and that’s Bindery. There will always be a free tier, but I will be throwing in a few extras for the paid tier which will be $5 per month. I appreciate all of you who have supported me this far, and I completely understand if you aren’t interested in moving to a different platform, but I think it’s going to be really fun, and I hope you will give it a shot.

There will be a book club coming soon and a new private discord, and everyone (both paid and free) who joins before 11/18 will be entered to win a $100 gift card to Bookshop.org!

I have an idea that I want to run past my team (iykyk)...

I frequently get emails from folks with stories of scammers and general bad behavior by someone in the bookish community, but often I can't find enough information to make a full length video.

I was thinking of perhaps taking a page out of Hannah Alonso's book, and doing a "horror story" type video from time to time. I want to be able to expose every scammy person/business in the book world (after doing due diligence of course).

What do you guys think? Basically multiple, smaller topics in one video. Would love some input!

I have been a flight attendant for 8 years. Today, I'm in LA, sitting in a brewery working on a script for a video, and I'm just feeling so grateful to have this creative outlet. Flying is great, but it really isn't fulfilling. In the past year, YouTube has filled a huge hole in my life, and it's crazy to me that I'm where I am today with people who are actually excited when I post. I love having a purpose outside of my job, and yeah, I'm two beers deep and a little sleep deprived, but I really just love you all so much and always want to make sure you know it!!
