The government has clarified that the newly launched E85 fuel is exclusively for specialised flex-fuel vehicles and should not be used in standard petrol or E20 cars.

E85, containing 80–85% ethanol, offers a 61% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Officials confirmed that E20 and regular petrol will remain available for existing vehicle owners.
