🩵 Why Advocacy Matters | Autism Acceptance Month 💙

Advocacy for autism and other special needs is extremely important to me. I don't think I can express how important it is and how passionate I am about it.

Let's think of advocacy like being a bright, guiding light. It helps others see, understand, and appreciate the unique ways people experience the world. When we advocate, we speak up for inclusion, support equal opportunities, and create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Advocacy can be as simple as showing kindness, educating others, supporting families, or standing up for someone who may not have a voice in that moment. Every small act of understanding and compassion helps build a more inclusive and accepting world 🩵💙

🩵 Understanding The Treatment Process | Autism Acceptance Month 💙

It's important to understand that treatment plans are based on each individual and their particular needs. The plan created for me and my youngin will not necessarily work for you and yours.

Think of autism support like building a personalized toolkit. Every individual is unique, so their “tools” are chosen just for them. These tools can include therapies like speech therapy (to help with communication), occupational therapy (to support daily skills), and behavioral therapy (to guide learning and interactions).

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Each plan is shaped around the person’s strengths, needs, and goals. Over time with patience, consistency, and love, these tools help individuals grow, express themselves, and navigate the world in their own beautiful way 🩵💙

🩵 Understanding The Diagnosis Process | Autism Acceptance Month 💙

Think of the diagnosis process like putting together a unique puzzle. Every child has their own beautiful pieces. How they communicate, play, learn, and respond to the world around them. Doctors, specialists and therapists carefully observe these pieces over timeThey observe behaviors, development, and interactions.

This process may include conversations with parents, developmental screenings, and evaluations by professionals such as pediatricians, psychologists, or speech specialists. There isn’t just one single test. It’s about seeing the full picture come together to better understand and support the child.

Like a puzzle, every completed piece brings more clarity, more understanding, and more opportunities for support and growth.

🩵 Why Early Intervention Matters | Autism Acceptance Month 💙

Early intervention was a very crucial component for getting my youngin the support and services needed to start our journey in the best light possible. As a first time mom, I missed a lot of the signs and missed milestones. Thankfully, I had my mom to guide me in the right direction and I was able to seek professional help for my youngin.

Think of early intervention like planting a seed in a garden. When we nurture that seed early with water, sunlight, and care, it has the best chance to grow strong, healthy, and full of life. Early intervention for autism and other special needs works the same way. When children receive support early (whether it’s communication, behavioral, or developmental support), it helps them build important skills, express themselves, and navigate the world with more confidence.

Every small step taken early can create a ripple effect of growth, independence, and opportunity. It’s not about changing who they are. It’s about supporting them in becoming the best version of themselves.

Today is World Autism Acceptance/Awareness Day
💙🩵 Light It Up Blue 🩵💙

Today, let's stand not only in love, but in advocacy.
For my daughter, for every child, for every individual with special needs.

They see the world in their own way, and it’s a beautiful way. A way that reminds us daily that different does not mean less. It means extraordinary.

Life As Daphne Oh

Today marks the beginning of Autism Acceptance Month. A time to celebrate neurodiversity, embrace differences, and uplift individuals on the autism spectrum with understanding, respect, and love.

As we step into this new month, let today be a reminder that growth is a journey and no two journeys are the same. We all live in the same world, but what see and experience comes in all different shapes and forms. Let's respect everyone's uniqueness.

Good afternoon everyone! I hope all is well. I wanted to share this avocado and cucumber salad meal idea with you all. Once again, I'm starting over with trying to eat "cleaner". I'm not going completely clean because I will be just setting myself up for failure. Instead, my goal is to establish "cleaner" eating habits.

Please share some of your positive advice and tips. I would love to hear them. Notice I said "positive" cause I don't like to entertain negativity over here. Looking for all positive vibes. Constructive criticism is acceptable, but not straight up disrespect.
